Broths... Bah... What are they good for?Follow

I was lvling in Burb today when I hit 23. Ran to windy because I wanted to try the canned pets. Picked up 2 stacks of rabbit pets. Went back to burb. Found a nice juicy tough Mugger. Summoned pet. Put the pet on the mugger... Pet was dead so fast it almost got me killed. It was a joke. Worthless for normal leveling. Fyi... All I kill are toughs. Usually with a high decent or and even. And rarely do I have any issues. Anyways... Thats my rant...

I believe the hares are the weakest of the "canned pets", once u get higher, the familiars become increasingly more powerful than average pets. Even so, they are still useful. Good pets are hard to find and the broths give u an instant even match, and u can use them in dungeons such as palborough mines where there are no good charmable mobs.

By the time you have the ability to use canned mobs, you should be able to solo through Palborough pretty easily. :)

But, the point is still valid. Try finding something to charm to fight a boss sometime. ;)

If nothing else..they can be used for farming items/gil inside of dungeons or other areas where you dont want to worry about recharming..say you get a level 55 or whatever level broth and go into a lowbie dungeon...You could always have that pet and sit there all day slaughtering things. *shrug*

Im sure they have their purpose hehe

It helps a lot when your party is resting and everything around you is IT or VT and you dont' wanna risk taming. Just pop one out and then kill the monster while everyone rests. saves lots of downtime.

will the summoned pet attack you when its time is up? do they stay charmed as long as a normal charms? what does pet food do exactly?

pet food heals a certain amount of hp to your pet.

When the time limit is up, the summoned pet will simply disappear. Time limit is .. around 10-15 mins off-hand.

is there a round time to summoned pets? like you can only summon one every 5 minutes or so.. cause they seem awesome for the train o death tactic...(ie keep sending them at an it til its near dead then fight it

personally I was a little disapointed too..but its all understanding their power and usage (which as a bst you should be pretty good at by now?)

I use mine often to deal with a close damage gap
ie. if I send an even at a tough and about a 1/3 hp remains from the tough (could take me down to red if I fight) I will just toss in a jug pet and pull the hp down a bit more and go back to rest etc.

primarily I use it for emergencies...I mean if you are getting aggro'd by bstmen and you cant charm..jugs can save your ****..just drop the macro send it and jet..or relocate for heal..or look for another charmable pet.

like many of the bst skills..its all about delay tactics and tactics that give you greater control over your enemies final hp as you can finish with that one hit kill

these things last forever too..I have yet to see them uncharm?...I dont believe they do..this is a good thing ^^

be interested if anyone has been able to supliment them properly with food and get a permi-pet going?

Hmm. That sounds interesting. I'm not a BST yet, but my RDM's at 27 and I'm switching ASAP. I have a high enough cooking skill that I can make Pet Food Deltas for about 1k per stack, and I think I can make up to Tiger summons...

They do "unsummon" they just disappear like how they appeared. Mine last about 15-20 mins.
