Another BST/THF topicFollow

Just curious, i might plan to go:

Lvl THF till subjob, get sub as a THF/WAR till lvl 30.
Then perhaps go BST/THF all the way.

I've heard it could make a good combo as sneak and trick atk will be able to used soloing, i'm not sure if i'll do it yet, any comments?

EDIT: Plus, i could also train my WAR more, so for partying i would go THF/WAR and solo i would go BST/THF is this a good idea? Cause then i have the best of both worlds :)

It depends what race you are. You might very well NEED BST/WHM as a Taru.

I think BST/THF is a combo when U wanna group with people.... but don't know group like that or not....personally I like BST/WHM either I am a Mith >.<" but anyway just go for what U want.... JUST PLAY HAPPY!!! no rulez in the game...hehee

I heard an interesting idea the other day, and this made me think of it. Someone had suggested BST/THF to me at one point, and I discarded the idea, simply because I'm elvaan. My agility sucks so there's no point in trying to make up for not having a class with a decent agility by subbing one that does. :) This combo might work okay with a Mithra. However. If you're not a Mithra, and you're a Hume/Elvaan/Galka, BST/MNK would make a very interesting combo. Again, you do get an agility boost, but you also get a fairly interesting HP boost, and BST already has a lot of HPs... You'd also gain access to things like boost/dodge etc. Never tried it, but it seems good. like to hear from someone that has.

Boost and Dodge are the level 5 and 15 job abilities, respectively. Not 2 hour abilities.

This isn't a very static game which makes it a great one, so here goes the why and why not.

Thief as a sub isn't gonna do you much good until your bst is at a high lvl and your thief is at a high lvl. Same goes with most classes that offer melee advantages with the exception of pally. Even with thief up high with it subbed your not gonna really reap any hard and defined benefits.

THOUGH I would suggest to any hardcore bst thats skilled at making gil on there respective server to lvl theif to at least 15 and stock up on potions. Reason being as a BST we can go and solo places that most people have to go to in groups. This being the case we can mine for rare items which is a good source in itself for gill and cool equipment. The famed "Treasure Hunter" ability of thiefs is HIGHLY beneficial with this trust me. Though I would use this only as a technique not constant.

Example:
I lvled ninja for duel wield and invisble even though I had been told it's useless. For the periods from lvl 24 to about lvl 30 do to lack of guild the combonation of a fast axe and sword actually put my dmg up to par withought blowing 20k on a tiger axe, and the invisble ability allowed me to get into nice areas where I could solo quite well. I used potions to heal and my drops funded the addiction for awhile. lvl 33 I went back to whm as a sub.

i play bst/whm myself - and believe it to be by far the strongest job pair

however I have an equal lvl friend who plays bst/mnk

I have seen him in action..and its pretty awesome...

for sure your downtime is a little more, but the extra hp can compensate for that. He makes up for it with some vicious attacking and a nice stat boost

in the end I am sure their are plenty of options...as mentioned though many of the melee subs wont come to frutation until later lvls...I plan on experimenting quite a bit when I get to around 40 ish

ninja will definitely be one of those experiments ^^

we both play hume too...I think that seems to open up a few more options
