Hey guys, I just picked up some Entois Trousers from Usurper the other night (free lot, was on my nin). I was just wondering if anyone knows what the effect of Increases "Rapid Shot" activation rate actually is. http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Entois_Trousers

Anyone know of any tests on this? I seem to recall Hunter's Beret only being ~1-2% so if its around the same it's probably not worth wearing.

Relic Body has Rapid Shot +5 I wonder if this piece is similar. Even if its 5% or more I think Sylvan +1 may still be better. Anyone have a "Snapshot" build and try to work this in? If not I'll see if I can fit some tests in this weekend.

I don't see why you would finish a shot in them, Snapshot/Rapid Shot precast, sTP/damage midcast.

True but with 6 line limit on 360 and PS2, its hard to swap much gear in a single macro and hard to get timing down on a double press macro. Especially if the whole point of the macro is to speed up shooting.

At no point in my vana'life have I ever found myself limited by 6-line macros. I chose to use spellcast and make my own XMLs because it's one less thing to think about, but I could sure as hell whip up a macro palette that does what I need if prompted. The whole 6-line argument just doesn't pass my BS detector.

Spoken like someone that's never played on PS2 or 360 before. In order to increase your macro lines on those consoles you need to press controller or keyboard buttons multiple times which throws off the timeing considerably, especially if there is any lag going on. And to do it every time you fire an arrow would lead to some serious repetitive strain injuries (damn 360 analog triggers). I value my hand health more than a microsecond of extra damage, especially the way the game is played now.

Think about it: Two macro presses to swap in rapid shot/snapshot gear and another two to swap it out. That's four macro presses per shot. It's bad enough I do two per action, but 4 would be beyond annoying. Now if SE made it so those set swaps fired automatically, then we have something.

I was just positing a possible explanation for why someone wouldn't have a twenty-one line macro to complete a simple ranged attack shot.
It wasn't meant to derail the thread. And it takes two to tango.

So i've asked this before to 1 of the only other rng's on my server. Is it worth macroing in rapid shot gear (not snap shot) precast? By that I mean gear such as the dynamis xarc body and entois trousers?

Also is it worth macroing this gear out in lieu of the fact that macroing out gear would lower the chance of getting the set bonus to activate on sylvan +2?

I currently macro'd entois on precast, and swap to sylvan +2 on midcast.
I'm not sure if that's really helpful, but the blink is certainly annoying.
