Returning Ranger - a few questionsFollow

Hello fellow Rangers,

I have been away from the game for a few years. A few quick questions and my apologies if these are answered elsewhere:

1. What is typical ranger food these days for exp related purposes? Is it those "yellow curry buns" and still bison steak?

2. Do people wait lfg in Whitegate or elsewhere?

3. What is the Ranger's typical role? Damage dealer or do they also pull?

4. I know you can gain much more exp with a group, but are there any good Abyssea areas to solo (or duo - I can get my brother to join as a warrior or paladin). I'd like to get a grip of the area and mobs so that I do not embarrass myself too much.

For food I use Pot au feu. Has RaTT and RACC on it so it's kind of like the Pizza of ranged attacks. Since I'm usually stacking RATT and STR and crit atmas in Abyssea, I'm glad for a little extra RACC in food.
But yellow curry buns are a solid option if you don't need the RACC.

Most people hang in Port Jeuno these days where the teleporter to Abyssea maws is located.

Ranger is a DD. Actually in the most recent dom parties I've been the tank.

You can solo some in Abyssea if you are a mage. I'm not sure even with dom ops and atma, there is much easy soloing for a RNG. If you have a PLD buddy you could duo a lot of regular mobs. In the end, you will want to get a group so you can ge the good atmas that will make you a far better player in the Abyssea arena. Many of tha atmas make even an averagely geared RNG godly (think 40-50 STR and 50 RATT on a single atma... no gear can touch that).

Thanks, I appreciate it. I think that Pot au feu is a new food and I look forward to trying it out, though I usually ok on racc
