33-37 solo?Follow

I've been severly cut back on my play time and can only seem to get an hour to play at a time, so I've been trying to level my rng SJ solo off of FoV. However, rng is getting real painful to level solo. So far, I've gotten war, drg, blu, pld and dnc to 37 solo, but rng is proving the most tedious.

Last night I tried rng/dnc in quifim on dc mobs, with exp band I maybe pulled about 5k/hour. Which I suppose is ok, but without exp band would be closer to 3-4k/hour.

Usually I'd leave quifim much sooner that level 33, but I found rng to have a much harder time as the standard DD/dnc solo. The issues I saw with it was, ranged attack giving a delay before being able to cure yourself. I was using a dagger which is lame damage, so I'd rely on bow for most damage. Would switching to an axe be better? The other issue also with rng is their craptacular defense, which even on piss pathetic dc mobs I'd have to use most of my tp for curing.


Anyone got any better suggestions for soloing rng to 37?

Eastern altepa desert worms only spawn at night, making it difficult to do for more than 30 minutes at a time.

North Gustaberg (S) works 32-34ish.
Grauberg (S) works 33-35.
Attohwa Chasm has worms til 37. Only one person can go, there are not enough worms there to support more. At the bridges of H-9, there are 6 worms or so. They can link. They can cast and hurt you. Be smart, use status bolts to not ever need to stop.

Only use bloodys when you need HP, outside that, use Holy bolts with an acid bolt for def down. Holy bolts do more damage overall. Also remember to put highest damage bolts for barrage and WS.

Acid's yes, Holy no. With RNG you can fight mobs where you need to spam Bloody to stay and alive and kill the mob quicker. A VT mob is going to be hitting you often enough and hard enough that you won't need to switch out ammo, or really switch to anything else.

Nah, i don't rate people anything usually. I'm talking about worms going along with the previous guy's post. Worms don't cast -ga spells often enough to warrant fulltime bloody bolts. Macros to change bolts are super hard though.

When i leveled ranger to 37 i did it on worms mostly, but if you have experience with goblin pets that is always a good way to go.

In the end what I should have written was that I used the following set of bolts:

1- Acid Bolts, to open a fight pushing DEF down and again sporadically to reapply it;
2- Venom Bolts, as secondary form of DPS, but only when I could take full advantage of distance, minimizing the distance to run to avoid -ga;
3- Holy Bolts, as main DPS form (highest DMGing bolt actually, depending on level);
4- Bloody Bolts, for the rare occasions in which I preferred to eat the -gas rather then run / sleep;
5- Sleep Bolts, to cut -ga in any situation in which Venom Bolt would not be viable, and / or to deal with links.

Yeah, I'm such a tard. I solo'd exp a lot on my thief using bloody, acid and sleep bolts. Don't know why I didn't use on my ranger.

Grauberg [S] was amazing, 15 or so worm spawns with almost no aggro and they don't link. Only took an hour to go from 33-35. At 35 I went to Attohwa chasm, worms there weren't really high enough and exp was actually pretty slow. But it worked.
