Here are the tests done for weapon skill and yes ranged attack does affect WS numbers otherwise you'd always get same WS if you had 0 ratt or 999 ratt. Our second weapon skill ignores a certain % of the mobs defense based on tp. That will show you how it affects your dmg if you fire it off at 100, 200 and 300 tp.

One of my pet peeves is RNG who wear chiv chain for other purposes than STP.

Please use one of the other options.

Keep in mind that thread is based around damage but doesn't account for Racc.

The correct answer is Light Gorget.

I'm always shocked when people devalue RATT over STR. RATT is still very important. That Chaos Roll or Minuet isn't giving you STR. It's giving you RATT. Everybody notices the difference those buffs make so why would it be any different with equipment?

Yes there will be variable degrees of which is more important depending on the mob you are fighting, but following a general "2 RATT is worth 1 STR" rule pretty much follows for most mobs you fight on a regular basis.

And if you are a marksmanship RNG, don't forget AGI. Adding a stat that improves both RACC and WS power is nothing to sniff at.

So Light gorget > Q collar > Chiv chain. But I still wear a PCC and try to get STR and RATT in other slots until I get my Light gorget.

Light Gorget works with every ranged WS (except Trueflight and relic WS).

Breeze Gorget only works with Slugwinder and Trueflight.
