There are tons, and tons, and tons of posts in the THF forums, and main forums on how to make money. With a max of 11k you've ever had, you might want to invest some time in learning how to make cash before you really get into the RNG job. It's pretty expensive in the higher levels.

No you don't NEED the Hunters Longbow, but it's only what? 12k? 20k? Easily affordable.

You might want to read this if you don't know anything about making money, it's in SaintD's sig. :

My Journal about Making Gil:

Try to grasp the concepts of money making quickly before you get into RNG seriously, or you will have troubles later.

IMO farming is the best way for you to make money... im a lvl22 theif and 12 ranger... i can farm with that. I also try harder mobs with my RDM/rng and get good drops. Id say at lvl 30, even though your a monk, you could farm dhamals... any elements... sheep, tremor rams (my fav) and then possibly goobies (sp? >_<)... jaguars and fungars... Try it out see what you can kill the best, that has good drops. Dont really try to camp for silk thread that stuff is rather heavily camped 24-7

Farming beehive chips and silk thread from the mobs in Tahrongi Canyon has made affording good equipment much easier for me. Also low level goblins will have armor drops and give gil just for beating them.

I've also recently taken up fishing, and if you know the right times to fish you can make quite a bit by doing that by using lures.

If you don't mind it NM hunting can also make cash, but takes a lot of time and isn't 100%. I just got 100k for 1 hour of play thanks to NM's :).

I make my gil by farming NM's when I have the play time or mining. If you invest the money in mining gear and buy a couple of stacks of pickaxes you can easily end up with some gold ores and darksteel ores and some other rare stones/ores depending on where you mine. Also check the AH and see what is selling well. If something is selling well then try and farm the mob that drops it. Mining would be the one thing I would present as the most viable gil making strategy. There aren't as many people doing it as NM hunting either.

PS. NEVER buy pickaxes from the AH. They are always jacked up beyond regular price. A buy mine from san d'oria for 180 each instead of paying 3k and more for a stack of 12 at the AH.
