Hey all,

I was wondering what the delay was in between weapon skills. Does it take 5 seconds to do a WS or is this time longer? What is everyone's experience with this? What would be even better to know is if you can solo WS chain with a multi hit WS and barrage.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

The delay is pretty flexible. I'd say 2 seconds to somewhere between 5-7 seconds for a skillchain. To solo renkei as a ranger, what multi hit WS are you going to start with? Barrage at best is going to return 56% tp so you need to make 46% somewhere else. I'm still one level from sidewinder, but I do believe it does 4x damage, not 4x separate tp hits (can't find any English sites with good info, but the kanji descriptions seem to indicate this). Rampage is a 5x axe WS which may give you 46% tp, but I doubt it. Even if you managed to get every hit, you'd be counting on rapid shot to kick in on the barrage to make it in time.

This is all pure speculation. If anyone has ever seen it done, I'd be interested to know.

generally people have a macro with 3s delay. those who dont use macro and still manage a WS chain is b/c the delay can be about 1-5 seconds, maybe even 7 like other person said.

this is why people who dont have macro continue to say, i'm doing fine without one.

yes you can but dang it's irritating to see a 15+ lvl char, maybe occasional slippage and up that to 20+ lvl char, who hasn't macroed his WS ! hehe

also i believe the general acceptance is that only a samurai can solo a WS chain by himself. anyone seen differently?

I've neither personally witnessed or heard of a solo renkei myself although I'm not going to 2nd guess that this couldn't be done by someone w/ SAM.

I don't macro the delay for my WS unless I plan to stack it with something but the general accepted timeframe between WSs is 3-4 seconds. (Although sometimes I've seen it go off for what seems like longer then 4 seconds; from my experience it seems chains are more generous with mistakes if you take too long....but it never works if you go too early)

I just got Barrage so I'll have to rely on the experiences of those above to suggest it's still difficult to get enough TP fast enough to pull off your own chain in time.
