Ranger/DragoonFollow

I'm going to try it out, anyone have any serious reasons why this is a bad idea?

only benefit i see if getting defense and attack against dragons.

But ya, 1. no wyvern. 2. lower agility. 3. rangers dont front line too often.

What about Dragoon/ranger? I'm thinking it might be fun, call me dragon hunter!

Wrong. Dragoons *can* jump without a spear. My friend, playing a DRG/NIN, dual wielded swords for much of his career, and his jump was very useful. Just a tidbit of info.

It's neat to see anyone try out some new combinations. Just keep in mind the limitations of them so you don't have unrealistic expectations.

here's my view on both ideas.

Ranger/Dragoon:
Dragoons big thing is definately the Wyvern. Without it all you get some jump attacks, and attack bonus's, and an accuracy boost at very high levels. However you will be loved during any dragon fights. If I were trying this character I'd probably just use this combination for dragon fighting.

Dragoon/Ranger:
The biggest problem here is like someone said before, DRG's don't get access to any ranged weaponry. So basically what you'll wind up with is a Dragoon with better than average dodging ability, wide scan, and accurate attacks. It might work fairly well for farming easy monsters using wide-scan, but I'm afraid the advantages of this combination seem pretty limited to me.

I'd considering leveling both jobs sepraretly (like leveling a DRG/WAR and a RNG/WAR) and combine them as needed rather than relying on either a RNG/DRG or DRG/RNG for a main.

If you give this a shot let us know how it turns out.

depends on race and lvl, but I dont see bind as all that reliable, it breaks too often and alot of the time you can run out of mp quick, i'd say go with either whm or rdm if you wanna be rng/caster cause for soloing worms you're gonna need the heals and the enfeeble from rdm is nothing to joke of. i myself am working up ninja atm to dual the arch daggers. and blink and the like.
