Im curently a level 22 Dragoon/Thief. The lack of new skills that a dragoon get from 10-35 is really burning me out. Im considering starting Ranger. I would have no problems with that, but i dont know if i can handel EXPing for a day, and farming for a day. Can any one give some advice?

I will probably get hanged for this. I am a 28rng/14nin on Caitsith. I make tons of money from fishing. Save up for a carbon rod and buy a couple stacks of worms. Find an area that has moat carp and just keep fishing. Moat carp go for 5k a stack on my server. My fishing skill is at 14 at the moment and i catch a stack of carp, in North San near the cathedral, about every 40 min. I havent had any money problems so far.

My ranger is lvl 18 and i havnt had a money problem yet, even with buying expensive bows and weapons, you just have to find something that gives a lot of money on your server. I have serveral ways to get money and as of right now i have about 30k just sitting around, i buy beetle and iron arrows, 3 stacks of each usually before going out to lvl. I have yet to have a problem with money. My char has been War to lvl 30, theif to lvl 15, Drk to lvl 15, Pal to lvl 10, and a monk to lvl 10. I think i got all this money in the last week getting all these advanced classes to lvl 10 or so.

Srry to rant, but my point is that ranger is not nearly as expensive as ive been told so far, but im only lvl 18, just my two cents.

Trust me, they do get expensive. You can burn through your wallet pretty fast. That being said...

You need to learn how to make money, like one said, fishing is a good way, just have to work at it. Also, check the AH for what sells high, and find how and where to get it. Farming is easy for a ranger, and it doesnt hurt you can one shot kill then move to the next.

But i have to say, both jobs are pretty cool. Dragoon is fun, and jumps are just icing. Rangers tracking cant be beat really. Go with what you like.

well i didnt have money problems with rng until 30 (did utsemi:ichi quest but i farmed that money back) 30 hurts though

Greatbow+1
Centriurian Armor (unless your going for RSE)
silver arrows(start at 24 but i didnt use up my iron quiver until 30)

iron arrows are really cheap (800 a stack) silver are twice that
My normal day is 1hr farming 2hr leveling sub whatever time i have left with rng. But right now im camping Stupid Valkum Emperor (rng hats suck)

I'm the one that talked about fishing for money. Carbon rods go for 4k on my server and they are well worth it. The willow and yew rods break way to easily. If the carbon dows break it goes for 2400 broken. At least on my server. I constantly fished for about 7 hours and got my fishing skill to 10. Then went to windurst and did the Craft thing so i can go above 10.(you turn in one moat carp for it so catch one and bring it with you or buy at the ah) It took me longest to get skill 0 to 1. But it is definatley worth it. I find it more fun to fish then to farm gil.
