He may have another job that is level 30. You have to unlock the extra jobs as a level 30+ job.

If that were true then anyone should be able to get the adv jobs at lvl 23, since you've got a minimum of 1 in your other 7 basic jobs.
You can do some of the "prequests" for adv jobs before 30 (such as Squires Test and Squires Test II for Paladin) but, take it from someone who's been running around adv job quests for a week, you can't get THE adv job quest until ONE job is at least 30.

no im not talking about it as if i had level 1 in every class im talking about Subbing it. think about it if ur main is 20 whm and ur sub is 10 blm then it equals 30. because u have 30 on you my friend had a level 18 whm and a level 9 blm and he was getting missions where the level reqirement was 25 i couldnt get it and i was 16.

At 18 you can get your sub and your sub will cap at half the lvl of your main. so if your lvl 18 your sub caps at 9. When you kill all xp goes to your main not your sub. If you switch your sub as your main and its a lower level than your main your main will be half of the sub value. When you switch back it goes back to normal. IE if you switch your 18 and 9 your 9 would be 9 and your 18 will drop to 5 ( I think, might be 4 depending on how they round, up or down)

*Missions* don't have level requirements; they have rank requirements. You can get a mission at any level if you have the rank (I could get mission 3-3 right now, which requires a level 35+ party to *complete*, at level 12, because I have the necessary rank).

Some quests do have level requirements. At 29, you will simply not get the quest to unlock an extra job. At 30 you will. Just like at 17, you will not be able to do the sub job quest, but at 18, you will. There is a level requirement. You must be level 30 or better in your main job before you can receive the quest to unlock the ranger job. There is no adding of levels.

i dont know what Anonymous is talking about im not talking about that at all but there are SOME missions with level requirements take alook for yourself

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=Windurst&fquest=144

it clearly states that the requirment for this is level 25 is it not? and my friend was 18 whm/9 blm so he meet the requirements if you add it together. cause he could do this mission.

That would be the level recommended by the people who typed in the quest to put here. You can get missions at any level; they are dependent entirely on rank. Whether or not it is possible for you to actually do them is up to you. I helped a level 14 red mage kill the dragon in Giddeus. He got the mission at level 11 - no subjob, 11 was all he had - because he had the required rank.

He was lucky to have a group of much higher level people to pull him through the fight. That was his mission 2-3.

I have Sandorian mission 3-3 ready to claim at level 12. The requirement listed is 35, but I can get it.

Quests can depend on level, fame, doing previous quests, etc.

Allakhazam's is not an official source of information on the game, until this game has been played in the US for a year or two, I wouldn't count on this being terribly accurate.

If you can't get a mission (as opposed to quest), increase your rank until you can. Give crystals to the R.K, I.K, or W.W. guards (depending where you live), or redo earlier missions.

you must have achieved level 30 in 1 job not a combination of your main and sjob ..

if your friend says that he can get an advanced job without leveling 1 specific job to at least level 30 then he is lying to you .. or in a nicer tone .. he is just mistaken and thinks that he can ..

but he can't .. you must be level 30 in one specific job .. no exceptions =/
