Well, here's how I see the one's you have asked about...
-Ranger/Samurai- Would fair decently on the Damage output, but I don't believe being a samurai will help the TP much...short of Meditate (which is an Active Ability and I do not believe you can use those from jobs assigned to "subjob" status) you will not be gaining much in the way of TP, assuming you are doing your job as a Ranger correctly, meaning staying away from the center of combat and using Ranged attacks.
-Thief/Ninja- again seems to be one that would do decent Damage output. I've heard a few people talk bad about Dual Wield, but not many...I have yet to experiment with it.
-Black Mage- they are just amazing Damage dealers, but it all has to be timed so carefully. Being such heavy damage dealers they draw aggro VERY quickly and being that the Black Mage does not get many hit points no matter what race you choose, they can not stand by themselves in close (melee) combat. If you have a good group with a good ability to control aggro then you should have no troubles at all with this class...pray for much help if you do not though.
