So apparently their was some recent testing done on the Perle set, and come to find out the head piece actually has 3% haste instead of 2%.

So I Made a new general comparison chart for the updated set vs. the mix/match combo of homam x3, hauby+1, and w.turban.

As far as TP is concerned, it looks like Perle Hauberk set is the superior set to use while souleater is down.

Perle Set

* Defense +179
* STR +22
* DEX +14
* VIT +10
* Attack +25
* Accuracy +18
* Enmity +4
* Haste +14%
* "Critical hit rate" +2%

Mix/Match (w.turban/haub+1/homamx3)

* Defense +117
* STR +6
* DEX +6
* Attack +12
* Accuracy +25
* Enmity +3
* Haste +14%
* HP +107
* MP +107
* Fast Cast
______________________________________________

Difference

Perle Set:

* Defense +62
* STR +16
* DEX +8
* VIT +10
* Attack +13
* Enmity +1
* "Critical hit rate" +2%

Mix/Match:

* Accuracy +7
* HP +107
* MP +107
* Fast Cast
______________________________________________

2-Hand Break Down
(STR > attk; DEX > acc; VIT > def)

Perle Set:

* Enmity +1
* "Critical hit rate" +2%

Mix/Match:

Anyway... only two reasons not to use full perle set now:

1. You have some incredible gear: adaberk, dusk hands+1
2. You need store tp: askar, aurum

The full set is less than 500k on the auction house on my server. In a couple weeks, it will be even less. Invalid argument, try again.

It's cheap, it beats Homam (giving up 1% Haste for a host of extra boosts? That's pretty awesome in my estimation), it's sexy as a full set, even on Galka.

What's not to like?

You're only giving up 1% haste if you have dusk hands+1 or you somehow managed to get those evil haste+4% legs.

I'm actually a little disappointed you didn't pick up on my mention of Homam, Xypin, 'cos the boots go down from 3% (Homam) to 2% (Perle). Dusk+1 didn't even enter my thought process.

Homam hands + Homam legs + Homam feet + Turban = 14% haste
Perle hands + Perle legs + Perle feet + Perle head = 14% haste

You don't lose 1% haste if you were using 3 pieces of homam. I didn't point this out because it's in the OP.

I should still mention that Homam is still incredibly useful to have if a) you want to make a mixed set and b) for zergs because of hp+.

Also, Homam is more aesthetically pleasing.

Not very well conducted tests, but the difference 1% haste makes is definitely noticeable when it comes to a spell with a 180 second recast.

Kitty pants, Dusk gloves, and Adaberk is the most aesthetically pleasing combo in the game. The only problem here is the pieces of gear above it (a fuxing turban) and below it (piss boots). Completely, COMPLETELY I say, ruins the style.

I no has Adaberk. Smiley: frown

Also, I don't really mind the piss boots, and I got a .dat swap so that my Hume wears the Elf turban, so it looks less like a retard helmet.

Why do people hate me pointing out the inferiorness of this gear set? :3

(I know inferiorness isn't a word, but w/e)

Because it's not really inferior. Sure, if you have twenty million to spend and can actually find a pair of Dusk+1 you can can do slightly better, but this set does have better stats than the standard Homam*3, Haub+1, Turban setup (for DRK, who can't wear those silly cat pants).

Oh sure, rub it in ya bastid.

Right now I'm just waiting to see how low it'll go, because I'd rather throw just 100k at the last three pieces of the set and blow my cruor on all the little time upgrades and junk.

Down to 40k/piece already, dropping pretty much 10% a day.

1 good abyss run can net 60k in curor, which is enough to by most everything with them.

Yeah, I spent under 200k gil on the full set. Smiley: lol

After we did a couple Abyssea EXP runs when it was fresh, I bought (with cruor) and sold (for gil) about 15 pieces from the various gear sets, for around 6.5M total. I think I did alright. Smiley: laugh
