otherwise, your presence will be noted by your absence!

you can still do decent as drk if you /nin w/ suppa and rampage with proper atma support. me, i lack a suppa and i'm too lazy to go get one. i'm also one of the tanks for my group, so i'm generally not drk now anyway...

The STR Scythe I made was pretty easy, didn't take too long and I spanked the **** out of PUG DD's all the time with it. The OA2-3 Scythe is proving to be a huge pain in the ***. Leveling is a joke now. I blood warp all the time now because I can get the exp back effortlessly.

and yeah, if you engage properly, have even halfway decent gear, and play aggressively, then you'll still roflstomp all over pickup group DD's. they have **** for atmas, too.

I've gotten almost all my atmas, including Razed Ruins and Stout Arm by joining shouts, for free. They might not have been "omgefficent" groups, but whatever, I got the damned Atmas, for free.

What exactly is the point in new-XI? From the sounds of it, once you get this RR thing, you're incredibly powerful as a DD. Also; that leveling is super easy.

What exactly do you do for fun? Get better gear? Is there any real point in getting better gear? It just seems more pointless than usual these days

I managed to bloodwarp myself ~11k below cap, it just means you get to walk out of your next run with more Cruor before being 10+9999 compels you to leave.

Copypasta:

Here's my best summation of locations for grinding out your 2-3:

  • Three NMs
  • Arcana - Ro'Maeve, most other places are 16min respawn dungeon areas.
  • Hippogryphs - Grauberg is tough, you might go to #B01 but I think you'll have to farm a scale along the way to get to a good group. I did this during the big rush and before Riverne was uncapped.
  • Amorphs - Slugs in Rolanberry (S) are minimum level and fast respawning, but your best bet is to sync to level 10 and do Stone Eaters in South Gustaburg. You can keep going effectively until your sync dings 13.
  • Plantoids - A DNC might get away with carrying theirs to a Pachypodium party, but the 45 damage Scythe is too lulzy to get away with this and the kill speed is slower than expected. Again find a level 10 sync and go to West Sarutabaruta and circle the whole zone for (not Tiny) Mandragora.
  • Peiste - Theres no way around this. Grauberg (S). Quadav here will agro at 85 but are no real trouble. You can turn around to avoid both their Petrify Gaze as well as Torpefying Discharge (the para move). You'll likely kill as many Quadav as the damnable lizards while you're here. The payoff: OAT augment.
  • Dragons - 600 of them, but not as bad as it sounds because it includes Puks. Head to the southern extremes of Wajoam Woodlands and just go to town. You'll often have Dancers on 2-3 or NINs and all the dagger jobs doing Evasion daggers to help you (the latter on Windsday or Wind Weather).
  • Buffalo - Easiest freakin' trial of all. Just go to Uleguerand Range and down the ramp straight ahead. Interestingly the Snolls here won't agro sight on an 85 but will still agro magic. Watch out for the NM Snoll in the west end of the valley, it only drops craptants anyway. The big payoff: OA3 Augment
  • Arcana - Again, Ro'Maeve.

Just finished the saddest game of SC2 ever...

everyone ran out of resources so at the end it was me and one of my teammates with 20 marines and 5 nearly dead void rays and a carrier w/o any interceptors slowing razing the other team's completely undefended (8) bases.

also: how long is FFXIV is still free? I might try it again now that it (hopefully?) has a working economy?

I just got a Rekka Hachimaki. Is this thing good for anything?

    DEF: 12 Fire +10 Accuracy +12
Scythe Skill +5 "Conserve TP" +5

I don't know if the Conserve TP would make it a decent WS piece.

Hot for Guillotine if you don't have MKD +25acc helm, and probably just as good anyway.

I'd probably use the Hachimaki over the galea simply so I could put fast cast on my galea.

Conserve TP never makes anything appreciably better. It's just a nice bonus.

That said, the piece in question is worthwhile anyway.

I actually really like the battle system and I love the crafting system in XIV . . . it's actually fun to craft. If they made a few minor adjustments to the controls, made an ah and I had a better computer I would be all over XIV all the time.
