Level 55 Ring SetsFollow

Hi Paladins. My paladin is fast approaching level 55, and there's two ring sets I've been looking at. Going the DD = better hate route, I already have a hauby in the wings. The ring sets I'm wondering over are:

Lavas and Kusha Rings: Set grants +6 ATK and +12 ACC

vs.

Nasatya and Dasa rings: Physical damage -1% Magic Damage -1% SET: +50MP +50 HP

Currently, I have a Ecphoria and Vilma's ring in those slots, but these pieces are obviously superior to that set. I'm a Galka, so MP can be a problem (however rarely), but doesn't usually affect my skills so badly that I lose hate. Lavas and Kusha allow me to hit harder and more reliably, but Nasatya and Dasa let me take a bit less damage and far more importantly allow me to sling around more spells.

What do you think?

OK well I'm not relly sure I'm that qualified to answer =P, but if it was me I would go with the Lava's/Kusha's. I'm only 73 but I use dual woodsman rings so I would use that ring set in a heart beat if I thought I could legitimently camp, kill, and get the drops.

Though I am Elvaan so I don't have quiet the MP sink that galka's do. I'm sure you thought of this but you could always get both sets and use them when needed, though Id think that mabey Jelly with Patrounes would be better for when you turlte up.

Once again Im not really that experienced so best not to take my word for all that.

Kemann's got the answer. The only time MP+50 is going to matter is when you're at full mp. In other words, it would be fine to START a battle in them, use a cure on yourself (it'd be a free Cure III) and then switch to Lavas/Kusha from there. The -PDT, by itself, isn't going to amount to anything. In fact, you'd be lucky to see it even affect a point of damage - it's negligible. -PDT has a place, but it certainly isn't while leveling up.

As mentioned, the only time that max MP matters is when you are near max MP, however, sometimes the max can be relevant for triggering sanction/sigil bonuses so you should definitely make a max MP macro for idling in, but not worth full-timing. You can double whammy it with -hp/+mp gear to make your self cure set as well!

Note, that Lava and Kusha also give 6 defense, so that is nearly a wash for -1 PDT because you more than likely will not see a decrease above 3 points of damage.

L/K is definitely an awesome pair of rings for PLD, however, they can take a very long time to acquire. Personally after helping many friends camp it Lamina has maybe dropped three rings and died several dozen times, all of which were with TH4.

I'm probably a bit jaded since I have mine already, but I wouldn't really suggest spending the time unless you plan to level up a bunch of other melee jobs passed 55. By the time you actually get your pair you could have easily gotten a dozen or more levels on PLD. A 90-120 minute pop window with a ~5% drop rate equates to a lot of frustration, especially if you don't have TH and are competing for claim.

Thanks for the answers everyone. You've provided great info and help.

I already have Kusha ring, now I'm just camping Lavas. It IS frustrating. I've killed him well over 2 dozen times with no drop. But I'm encouraged to go back because most of the time I'm not competing for the claim.

Hi again everyone, didn't feel like making a new topic.

Now level 67...Augmented a Palmerin's shield(sp?). Got this augment HP+19 MP-19 VIT+1. Any good? Feel free to post your own augments, but I didn't see a thread for it.

My best augment from about 10 or so shields was either dex+2 or att+1/resist stun+1.

The worst was water+1.

I think yours is like a mini-terror shield without the emnity.

I am trying for emnity/hp combo, but I don't think it is coming soon at all.
