In a thread on BG, testing on "+ interruption % rate" gear lead to the discovery that at 102% you will not be interrupted by a melee hit. Knock-back, stun, terror, or movement can still interrupt, but standard hits will be ignored.

Saw this on another board and got me to wondering if this would be worth maxing out Iron Will. Iron Will when maxed out gives 95% -spell interrupt to not only yourself, but the whole party.

This effectively means just macro in a pair of Valor Breeches whenever Rampart is up and you can get any spell up you desire i.e. Stoneskin, Utsu, etc.

Now I'm aware Shield Mastery makes this a bit less useful, but I still see it being more handy in those oh-sh*t situations than say Guardian.

You probably wouldn't want the full 5 merits in it.

Given our other choices, it's not like it'll matter much.

Chivalry 5/5 is usually a given and I can't think of a reason NOT to do it.

Fealty is worth unlocking, but there are few reasons to take it to 5/5. Once every 10 minutes just doesn't really seem worth it, in perspective.

Guardian... I'm still convinced that since the sentinel changes, this merit is a complete waste. If it affected VE decay rate, it'd be worth it, but it doesn't.

Iron Will... With Valor Breeches, even at 4/5 merits, this allows for a lot more options - just a few pieces push the 102% rating. Still limited to a (most likely) 5 minute timer, but it's not as bad as I originally thought.

In the end, I wouldn't look askance at a Chivalry 5/5, Fealty 1/5, Iron Will 4/5 set for PLD (with the recent findings).

I would agree on the merit layout Dracoth but that means you'd have to make up the extra 21% which is actually easier than I previously thought.

Knightly Earring: 9%
Valor Breeches: 10%
Resolute Belt/Obi+1: 8%

Thankfully these don't take up extremely important slots for the most part. So I'd be curious to how this would pan out in a high stress tanking situation.

Honestly, it doesn't look like something I'd take up. I've never even looked sideways at Iron Will. The testing is interesting, but I have a decent success rate at getting Stoneskin up without much problem, and Utsusemi is laughably easy, especially as you practice more and more at it.

It's an interesting build - I'd see more application on it when trying to straight tank a MNK (mob or otherwise) than anything else. And it could certainly benefit the right kind of party (BLUs come to mind).
