Ok so I've been farming for my gorgets and I pretty much have all the organs I need, except for Yovra organs. I've never fought a UFO before so I've come here for advice. What is a good low man tank for UFO's? I was thinking pld/nin but hopefully I can get away with pld/rdm. Aside from that what would be a good low man group? I'd have thought pld, brd, rdm or whm would work great but everyone seems to run in terror the minute I mention fighting UFO's so maybe I'm underestimating them.
Any advice is very welcome, thanks in advance.

Well, this might not be too helpful to you, but every time i've needed gorgets i've tanked on mnk/nin. Most times its only been a trio, mkn/nin brd rdm, farm the hq's and you'll have the 100% drop rate on them.

I know it somewhat doesnt directly apply to you, but when Ive fought UFOs, I did NIN/WAR (me), RDM and BRD/WHM. Really, the less people you have feeding TP the better, and tanking as NIN, with double march and haste keeping shadows up isnt usually a problem (only problem is taking the full on 1k+poison attack). I'm not sure how will you could constantly keep shadows up as PLD/NIN, but you may not be able to deal enough damage to counter and overtake the over-land regen. Also, its not 100%, but UFOs do have Enparalyze which could get annoying. May wanna bring a THF to help damage or something. Best of luck.

The key to beating them easily is to eliminate their TP gain as much as possible. The only scary thing about them is their TP moves.
In a perfect world, its easier to just drop it with 2-3 mages, or a nin/dnc and someone to support him.

Several BLMs and some MP refresh for them. Don't need melees or tanks.
I've done the low level ones with NIN/DNC and BRD/WHM, but the time + the not-100% drop makes that the less preferable route.

^this, mnk brd and rdm can trio the HQ UFOs easily and get you a 100% drop. Double marches with some pizza and you are good to go. Monks evasion, subtle blow and ability to counter while naturally working well with Utsusemi and high HP makes this an ideal tank because with its great defensive abilities helping it, its DD capabilities is enough to counter its regen and kill it.
If all you can offer is pld, than get the same setup and add 2 more blms. Adding more than 1 person to melee it, isnt a wise idea half the time, if you cant deal with its TP moves.
*note* with the charm move we usually have everyone get charmed at the same time to deal with hate reset. If hate reset isnt an issue to anyone, just sleep the UFO and charmee or bind.
I won this on PLD/NIN with a RDM and a BRD for support. Took about 15 minutes. No big issues as long as you have Atonement (I'd say at least 50% of my damage was from Atonement spam). The worst part is that when he charms you, it takes awhile to get back and going, and in that time his regen will restore a good 2-3% of his HP.

Note: I should clarify this was the NQ Yovra I beat. Still not a bad way to to it - 50% drop rate isn't bad and you can do it with minimal support. HQ may be possible, the main issue would be in dealing damage fast enough.

easy work around to these is the wall of justice. its not legit, but it will work for you if you are having issues doindg it any other way. Some here might frown apon it as it is a sketchy way of getting it done.
have 3 members:
BLM/WHM
RDM/BLM
PLD/RDM or /WHM
BLM pulls HQ UFO to the thin part of West wall (seperation between areas)
PLD and RDM are stationed beyond the wall.
Once in range of pld and rdm spells, rdm sleeps
BLM teleports away to join other two
As to not lose claim pld spams dia, never stops till UFO is dead
Once BLM arrives, RDM and BLM nuke away.
After about 10 min you have your Organ.
there really is no chance at death, unless puller has an issue.
edit: oh have blm engage ufo for easy targeting if you need to. you can also sho blm where the ufo needs to be by curing him so he sees your casting distance range.
Again, its not the Legitimate way of doing this... But, if you are having issues doing any other way... well this will get the job done. Its incredibly easy, once the pull is done there is no way you can lose. You wont even take a point of damage, its just a race against its regen. A BLM and a RDM/BLM get the job done once they figure out a decent nuking strat.
Its the way i help people out.
