Sub wins by a long shot.

Naglring/Algol/Subdour are the big 3 GS's.

And pld can't equip nag.

Perdu's bonuses just do not make up for the higher delay (without opening up any new x-hit builds) and slightly lower base damage. Also the occasional few swings you will get in with > 100tp just pushes perdu even further down.

I have an unlocked subduer and with only STR+4 rings and pallas bracelets and meat mithkabobs, as PLD/SAM in campaign I regularly ding 500-700 damage with spinning slash on the various mob types. It's pretty **** sweet. ;O All the while wearing mostly PLD gear in all other slots, could easily put in Warwolf belt, sea gorget(if i had one xD), hauby, and better feet/legs options for some greater WS power. Wouldn't doubt it if I could soon break 1k on campaign mobs with more STR gear. Oh and merits. ;O

Out of all the times I've lost hate in campaign while pld/dnc, you typically only lose hate to the DD who is 70+ and trying to go all-out on damage like they would in a merit party. As PLD/SAM with my Gsword I've never had this issue, although self-survivability is harder to do. I only get to do it safely with a mage friend campaigning with me. :(

Sbuduer definitely wins, because its DoT is generally better than Perdu, and the bonus TP after 100 always helps spinning slash out. Whereas Perdu encourages you to WS @100 tp all the time to prevent a lack of DoT, Subduer does nothing but praise the storage of TP beyond 100. If you get too far beyond 100%, it's time to unleash a ground strike!

Something for the occasion. I couldn't get drunk yesterday cause of these meds i'm on. I intend to make up for it this weekend, many many snakebites will be had.Smiley: grin

I use Perdu Sword, but only because I don't want to spend the time to unlock Subduer, and I'll never see an Algol.

Actually looking at the stats...

Subduer
D85 Delay 444(7.4s) DPS:11.48 TP:11.3 (9 hits) (66.6s to 100)
Crit +6%

Perdu Sword
D84 Delay 456(7.6s) DPS:11.05 TP:11.8 (9 Hits) (68.4s to 100)
Acc+5 Atk+12

Algol
D85 Delay 489(8.15s) DPS:10.43 TP:13.2 (8 Hits) (65.2s to 100)
TA+3% Atk+3 Add Effect Fire

Naglering
D85 Delay 501(8.35s) DPS:1018 TP:13.6 (8 hits) (66.8s to 100)
Acc+4 MAcc+3 Atk+20 (DRK only)

Looking at those, its pretty clear Subduer is the best, but close behind it are Perdu and Algol. And any x-hit build you can do with Sub you will be able to do easier with Perdu (slightly).

Adding /SAM (+15) and Rajas / Brutal / Chiv (+5/+1/+1) lets redo the math with +22 sTP.

Subduer 11.3 * 1.22 = 13.78 (13.7) 100/13.7=7.29 (8 Hits) 59.2s till 100
Perdu 11.8 * 1.22 = 14.39 (14.3) 100/14.3=6.99 (7 Hits) 53.2s till 100
Algol 13.2 * 1.22 = 16.10 (16.1) 100/16.1=6.2 (7 Hits) 57s till 100
Nagle 13.6 * 1.22 = 16.59 (16.5) 100/16.5=6.06 (7 Hits) 58.4s till 100

Seeing that... with easy to get gear Perdu can get a 7 hit where sub is still on 8 hit. Sub would need +26 in sTP, or 4 more from -somewhere- (food can give 6 but pasta is expensive for playing around). Algol also needs +26 sTP to hit 6 hit. And Nagle can hit 6 hit with +23 (so throw europhic ring in there).

Still think Sub would win on basis of DoT + Crits alone, but Perdu is a close second (Algol will win if you can get +26 in sTP).

Algol > perdu

The fire proc is 100% iirc and 3%TA means 6 extra swings/100 and if it happens to proc on spinning slash . . . EVERYONE will notice XD

And if your fighting weak **** that isnt going to dodge ever then using the standard stp set + aurum body with algol would be sick.

But yeah algol is the hardest to get and hardest to use, but by far the most exciting XD

Definitely not a 100% proc on the algol, but it is a pretty decent amount. I wish I could remember the exact number, but I really only take it out to play around since I dd with joy/justice instead of a GS.

Edit: Most LSs that camp cerb are maxxed out on Algols as well. So Im sure if you find out when its getting killed, you could probably buy for 500k-1mil depending on the ls. Its a pretty high drop rate (not like Khim and haut -.-).

Awesome DoT, weak WS's, and it's delay makes it take far too many hits > 100tp so that it doesnt even WS more and when it does WS they are weak thanks to crappy base dmg.

It's only use is for a casual drk zerg when they can't get sufficient support for one of the one handed options and dont have a bzag.
