You only need one scale per run if you go through the 50-cap zone. The scales are Ex, so you can farm up a bunch of them at once and stock pile for future runs. As for soloing the drakes, I guess I fail in that department because I don't know. Usually I duo them as THF and WHM in the 50-cap zone without much incident.

RDM isn't that expensive to level, honestly. You could get by with some pretty cheap gear til level 40, especially if you get in some level sync parties or use fields of valor. Take the budget route and don't use HQs, which wouldn't help you considerably anyways at those levels. It was just a suggestion though. Hey, once you get your woodsmans, you could be selling them at the ever rising prices later on :)

I've also watched RDM/NINs solo Wyverns in the 50 cap area. Bind/sleep and Nukes are your friend. He was able to rest his mp quite easily, too, since he bound more than he slept. Gravity would help a lot as well.

I actually do have a tale of Shiniez Lust and escalating price.

I was on Asura at the time, and the going price was 800k. I had about 500k in the bank, and seals and Imperial Standing. I ground and farmed, not seeming to get any lucky breaks on BCNM drops, but through pure force of will I dragged myself up to 700k.

I checked the price. Someone was selling in Rolanmart for 900k.

I went back to grinding, and got a lucky Khroma Ore drop. There were expenses, of course, but that got me up to 900k after all was said and told.

I went back to Rolanmart. The same guy had raised his price to 1,000,000.

Crap. Back to grinding. No more decent drops, I resorted to straight farming, and eventually scraped together 1,100,000. Hah! There, I anticipated!

Apparently, the Organics not selling from his bazaar for three weeks was an indication of high demand. The price was now 1.2 mil.

ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!

There was a happy ending, though. I shouted in Whitegate, and managed to get one for 900k. Yay!

Ecphoria Ring is 58k on your server, get that until the price drops.

I remember when I bought my terra and apollo staffs for 5 million each during inflation. Now I'm not sure anymore what my most expensive gear piece is since I have several things I bought, and the prices have changed significantly since I got them.

My hades +1, my cerberus mantle, my assault breastplate, and my terror shield for all my main gears I can think of for highest gil value unless I'm forgetting something. I got my hades +1 for 2.5 mill, and that was almost a year ago. Got cerb mantle for 2.5 mill, now its like 1.6 mill. Terror shield for 3 mill since the bitch never drops from the NM, and its like 1.8 now, and my assault breastplate for 2 mill.

edit: OH RIGHT, my manteel. How could I have forgotten that. Ok, My manteel wins at 5 mill.
