I finally dared as a taru pld to switch to a cautious kind of hybrid dd/tank.
I feared for a long time that the loss of vit would hurt me a lot. It does make some difference but not as much as I expected. In that hated Mire I discovered again why I used to like it. I had 2 parties there in 1 day. First party was mostly 66-68 so killing things did take quite a while. Second party I was 68 ( dinged 69 ) and was the lowest member.
I defenitly didnt tank the most parts of the fight there. Between a ranger popping 1800-2000 ws and a sam and nin both doing 1200-1500 it was more like meriting most of the time. I would usually hate to lose control but fights were extremely short and the chains high without a second of downtime.
It did take my professional pride some effort not to be the only one being bashed but I guess its the result that matters.
I used that new food rabbit pie : 5 vit & str and 100 att and def ( at cap 25% )
and liked it very much. I wound up doing 350-400 Vorpals. Not overly impressive but paired with flash & voke I did manage to keep hate longer then I suspected.

Me (PLD/RDM) and a friend (PLD/DNC) had some fun in Brenner lol. I won 5/5 fights. Until we started going with no buffs or enfeebs heh. With no buffs or enfeebs, the fights went on for 20mins+.
Dinged 66 today and finally got my Gallant Surcoat.
Now I truely feel like a PLD and I look awesome in the full AF gear.

Valor Gauntlets last night, makes me 2/6 on Valor equip now.
Also tried tanking my biggest mob /nin last night, Simurgh. We had THF x2, BLM and me, and we wiped at 2% due to lack of healing power >.>

Easiest way to do it (in my experience) is E staff tank it just inside of draw in range on one of his sides. That way all of his AoE moves should only effect you and your melees are free to melee him from the front with no worries of taking dmg (as long as they dont pull hate). Having Chivalry helps, but you probably wont build enough TP throughout the fight since you wont be meleeing to make a huge difference.

We are yet to get any Nbody's or Dbody's as far as I am aware.
And back on track, I capped shield merits 4/4, and also skilled my shield to 275.1, just hope I can get the last few points soon for the blue number!

Started doing dynamis again last week. Did Bastok with no troubles, and this week did Windy (was great that the group I joined happened to be doing it this week as they only do it once every 5 weeks or so). Its only my 2nd run and the ls rule is 3 runs before you can bid on equipment. Valor Boots drop and the one person who bid them gets them. Short while later, a second pair drop. The ls leaders are like anybody...anybody...bueler...bueler...umm well nobody wants them, there are 2 plds present, both of us not "elgible" to bid, but since we are only ones who would/could want them, they let us lot. I already have Crimson boots, so I was like nah, I don't need them so I passed. A short while later a 3rd pair drops. So, I was like ok, I will take them. So, I got my relic boots, and a windy win (wahoo access to northlands) in one night. If there is one thing I like about Dynamis, it seems like the only place left where an old pld can go /war and be a turtle and it seems normal :P

Well, Iunno how well this stacks up to other people's accomplishments but I the past three nights I've tanked Roc as PLD70/WAR35 and also tanked Cactrot Rapido for the majority of the 5 minute fight or so until a BLM75 Manafonted with AM2 on me. Same night also got from ZM6 to ZM12 and just gotta go smash a pot to get to sky next. Next up on the list of things to do is beating down old man Maat to get G5 out of the way and then grind to 75 quickly for a potential dyna shell to join up with.

4 manned Ilrusi Atoll assault Extermination last night. It is probably not that great of an accomplishment, but it was fun for 4 relatively unmeritted friends. First run we literally needed 3 extra seconds to win... (curse the rune of release not spawning until the last body disappears). Second run, we won with 3 minutes left. Very fun night. Pt setup was pld/nin, drg/whm, rdm/whm, blm/rdm. Drg and I duoed crabs and leeches while the mages took out the slimes.

FINALLY got our 2nd Osode to drop last week, I still hate Kirin but I managed to outparse everyone but the DRKs on him, that helped me feel cool. ^^

Got Valor Leggings last week, 3/6 Valor now.
Had a very busy weekend though.
Saturday - Supertanked DM as /war, we won 1/3 and got my Suppa! Also beat ZM16 afterwards 2/2.
Sunday - Won Dyna-Valk, and went up for more Kirin's after. 1st pop gave us our 5th straight Wlegs, and our first Nbody, 2nd pop gave us our 4th osode, and 2nd Nbody! Only done 6 Kirin pops so far, and I kited the last 2 with another PLD for my first time ^^
Oh, and NCcoda, we are still without any Dbody's on Kirin as of yet.

Snowy Cermet in Temenos last night. Now I just need more limbus or 50k gil to get enough coins for my Gallant Leggings +1 upgrade. I am really enjoying coming to limbus as pld instead of thf right now.
Not been able to log on much recently, so I've mostly just been crafting, but my housemate needed help with Ungur today, so I finally got to dig out PLD again :D Trio'd Ungur as PLD/NIN BRD RDM (with a skele link lol.. initially stood too far over in the tunnel). Was an awesome fun fight and smooth as anything.
And as a bonus, changed someone's mind about PLD in the process :D The RDM was initially very skeptical about straight-tanking it, but at the end he was very impressed with the job combo :3

Nothing PLD-related, but I got Dynamis-Tavnazia access. Let's hope some hydra stuff drops, although I heard the drop rate is insanely low. Still, ANY piece will give a huge enmity boost!
