As a tarutaru you relish at the fact that you have MORE mp than most lv 75 Plds when you are lv 35 ^%^

When you opt out of having a bow and Arrow to have a LuckyEgg for the +1% mp and 1 vit.

My main is Whm, so its a Culture shock going from whm to Pld. SO...

You get Joy from vokeing, flashing and curing others JUST TO GET hate.

You miss having Cure 3 at lv 21 O.o Cure 2 does nothing.

You often wish Paladin had poisona in Crawlers nest so you could remove it instead of relying on the Whm.

After doing gear swaps, protects and or Foods, you check to se how much your Def goes up by.

You laugh that as a lv 40 Pld, you have more DEF then a lv 75 whm.

You know you have been playing Pld too long when you feel at home when changing to that job. (or any job that can use a shield, cure and flash)

you yell at getting party invites while not seeking.

You know youv'e been a paladin to long when:

- During ballista you try to interupt a magic caster with shield bash, as pld/nin >.>

You think a Gluttony Sword and full adaman is good to use in merit parties.

I don't. There's a surplus of old school PLDs that haven't merited much at all since the Shield, Sentinel, and Rampart changes who have no clue on how to play the job to its potential anymore.

ok, here goes...

-your out snowboarding with your best friend and he says the reason you last longer is cause you have higher vit. Then you respon (He palys a blm) thats what you get for eating all those pies.
-the 3 people you play with yell for you to voke annoying people irl.
-you invincible and stand at the zone long enough to die cause someone hasnt made it through only ot find out they went afk.
-you party apologises when you die and you say you enjoy watching the clouds. (im elvaan)
-you think searching for party for more than 5 mins is a waste of time.
-you have lvled pld on 3 different servers
-you revoke voke rights on other pt members at low lvls
-your freinds list is bigger than your linkshell
-your friends list is 4 times the size of the rdm, sam, and dk you know irl
-dd job that you lvl bore you
-apart from pld, the only jobs youve lvled are war, whm, and rdm. all of those only to 37
-your gear is always mismatched until af cause youll do anything for a slight edge for tanking
-you refuse to sc cause youe saving tp for flat blade "just in case"

and last but not least

-you check the forums every day to see if someone came up with something that would help you tank

i didnt read every single one but will so forgive me if i repeat anything.

You kno u been a pld to long when
-in rl u think of good deeds and chivalrous things to do
- look at hnms and tell the ls yea i can take em
- laugh at mobs who try to sleep u
- die for ur gf in battle for no reason
- provoke a mob b4 thf sata u tell him to sata someone else and still keep hate
- try to straight tank king behemoth jus to see how hard he hits
- laugh at mobs who release the fury at u and still cant kill u
- go into divine might like ur the best cuz ur super tanking the AA's
- provoke wit 2hp left
- laugh at a taru when ur hp is over 1600+
- purposely linked mobs cuz u kno u could handle it and wanted to show off to the nin in party of what he cant do
- absolutely hate it when a summoner brings out titan or garuda to cast stoneskinga or blinkga
- go back to replay cs from san'doria in ur pld armor
- farm where only undead are
- gets excited offa pulling 2k + damage on boreal hound w/ savage blade
- found something and quoted something in ur bazaar to fit ur pld lol(maybe only me)eg my bazaar comment says: A sword wields no strength unless the hand that holds it has courage -twilight princess

You know you've been a pld too long when you fantasize about being able to Merit the "Provoke" ability without war.

When you come back after a 2month break and smile seeing this thread still going :)

You see someone getting aggro from some drunken youths outside a bar, and you start slinging insults to provoke th drunkards, before heroically taking a pasting!

A friend of mine actually did this --- and claimed it was because he's so used to taking the hate as pld.

-When you decide to make a bridge out of matches and glue while bored in the party tanking, and still hold hate.
-When you motto for the puller/party when they ask "Should we do these yet?" is "If you pull it, I'll tank it"
regardless of if it is far above that level range.
-When you are on a DD job and feel weird LETTING someone else tank.
- When you refer to the hate as yours and you only let others have a little sometimes.

Herro! I love this thread SO much, but I don;t have the patience to sit down and READ all of the great things in it, but I have some to add that I've found to happen to me.

First off, I'm a tarutaru AND a girl so:
-So you you've been playing a paladin too long when you're voke macro says "I'm short, I'm a girl, and I'm adorable...COME HIT ME!"
-You make fun of the Elvaan Samurai for not being to take hate from a pld that doesn't even make it past his knees.
-You decide to wear your AF gear on a date instead of Opaline...cause really...Gallant gear is its own shade of white, and no...it doesn't make you look fat.

Just general things:
-You're lfping in (insert area) as WAR and you find someone low on HP, you go to cureIII, ProtIII, and ShellIII them for the hell of it out of habit.
-You get really sad when you open your magic menu and there's no spells there
-You run to teh nearest moogle to CHANGE to pld, then run back and hope they're still there
-You started farming in places like Delfukkt's tower when things were still Checking DC to you.
-Whereever you go you keep an eye out for NMs, just so you can solo them, even as /thf.
-You brag when you kill it and get the drop.
-You /wave /cheer /salute every PLD you see.
-More then 75% of you Friends list is other paladins
-You talk to them all the time about how cool it is to be a paladin, and laugh at them when they are leveling other jobs
-Youlve tried leveling other jobs after you've been playing paladin, got frustrated by feeling so lame, changed back to paladin and just ran around pwning [Too weak] mobs.

Well thats all I got for now, I hope that not all of them were repeats! Keep on keeping on my awesome paladin brethren!

You know you've been a pld too long when:
- Even though you have 7 level 75 jobs, the only job you have gear sets at level 30/40/50/60 are pld, just incase there is a level cap fight that needs tanking.

- when the sam/drg/war/mnk/drk that gets invited to your party says "finally i can use <insert job ability>"

- when the first things you merited were max hp's, vit, sword, shield and emnity.

- you also levelled nin just so you could tank more...

- no matter how many 75 level jobs you have, PLD is always first on the list when telling anyone.

- Regardless of your status or job levels, most if not all of your greatest accomplishments have been as a PLD.

- You feel slightly offended at the thought that most of the things on this thread are 'old school' or 'outdated', because they're 'antiquated' and 'classic'.

When you level rng and wonder how the hell that that tiny 1300 WS at 55 could take hate of the PLD.

You gringe when you level any job and see that the PLD doesn't use food.

When you as a taru always seem to die but never actually does.

When you start healing pt members while someone is pulling cause they shouldn't be hit at all in the first place.

When you accept a pt being main heal , cause to hell but I will get exp.

When in besieged your pissed of that a mobs actually wonders away from you.

When , and this is the worst , you see other PLD's actually walk towards mobs. I will ALWAYS try to avoid this. Having to walk towards a mob is like admitting defeat. I'm standing here so the only logical explanation for the mobs position is right in front of you facing you.

You tune into CNN during the '08 election coverage and:

- are confused when they're not debating /War v. /Nin.

- flashbulbs in the convention stands Flash faster than you do, regardless of haste.

- Notice certain similarities between the Alla PLD forums and shows like 'The Situation Room', 'Crossfire', etc, except instead of Anderson Cooper & Larry King, you have ScarShiva and NCCoda...

You know you've been a PLD too long when:

You switch to NIN\WAR tanking and the lack of hate hurts your brain.

You laugh when other people accidentally provoke.

You provoke <bt> and Flash links before anyone can even think about casting sleep.


-.- I always try to shield bash, regardless of the other things i am doing.(like leveling WAR W\2x Axes)

-You level NIN to 75, but you just can't bring yourself to come to events without a shield.

-You put your Shura Togi in your MH because you want to show your PLD can handle itself in a merit party just fine.

-You get annoyed in Salvage when your MNK doesn't block when casting Ichi.

-You go in your melee gear to Besieged and wonder why all the DDs wearing similar gear are dead.

-You think it's cute when someone pulls hate like they are actually going to keep it.

-You sell all your PLD gear so you can play all your jobs, just to go back and re-buy it again because you know it's the job you should play.

Having not done laundry for 4 years, the accumulated butt crud turns your divine white Gallant Breeches to an embarrassing shade of brown.

I laughed my taru pld ass off reading this and i must say guilty on about 95% of it. God luv ya and pls keep it going!!!



This i am most guilty of and is my fav.

Die-Nam-Miss ( yes its spelled wrong, and for a multitude of reasons, many of which you may not understand.)

when you receive phone calls at 3am stating "we need a tank"

when all you really need is a sword, a shield and your AF.. everything else is fluff

when no matter what else you have at 75, you still have your Knight's earring

when leveling Rdm, you sub war and out tank the PLD in your your pt.

you got a raging hard on when "chivalry" was announced as a merit

when you click protect and shell off cause you just arent taking enough damage

when you macro in all your +hp gear at the start of a fight just to drop that first cure IV fast.

your mannequin holds your AF

when people ask "Why dont you play pld anymore?" and your reply is there is a new piece of abcxyz gear out and you feel that you are gimped and ashamed w/o it.

when your catch phrase is "let's do it"

when you can successfully guess to the second how long a new pld in your LS will last against a certain mob...

when anything /pld is more fun than a normal sub...

when your spirits within deals more damage than sata guillotine, tachi: anything, sata: DE.

when sync'd at 55, that 1300 sidewinder DOESNT pull hate off you.


when you remember buying raise for when you dinged 75...

when you bought a Brass Jadagna +1 just because it has +VIT...
