Questions about 5-hitFollow

Assuming a greataxe with 504 delay (Bloodbath or Ixtab), and using SAM sub, how much STP is needed for a 5-hit build? I know it also depends on how much STP you have on your WS set; right now mine only has 6 STP. Is 5-hit a good way to go for WAR these days, or would I have to sacrifice too much to get the STP I'd need?

With a 504 delay, you need 46 Store TP for a 5-hit, and assuming you're using Upheaval, I believe having +18 Store TP in gear is enough to get a true 5-hit, provided at least two hits land (including the first).

Here are my normal TP and WS sets right now to give you an idea of what you may want to aim for.

TP

Main: Ixtab
Sub: Pole Grip
Ammo: Ravager's Orb
Head: Quauhpilli Helm
Neck: Asperity Necklace
Earrings: Steelflash/Bladeborn
Body: Armada Hauberk (Store TP 5, DA 3, Subtle Blow 5 on it)
Hands: Ogier's Gauntlets
Ring1: K'ayres Ring
Ring2: Rajas Ring
Back: Mauler's Mantle
Waist: Zoran's Belt
Legs: Ravager's Cuisses +2
Feet: Ravager's Calligae +2

Store TP amount: +52 Store TP (including /Sam)

Upheaval:

Main: Ixtab
Sub: Pole Grip
Ammo: Iron Gobbet
Head: Yaoyotl Helm
Neck: Flame Gorget (having a difficult time finding an Apathy Gorget on my server)
Ear1: Moonshade Earring (Att +4, TP Bonus +25 augment)
Ear2: Brutal Earring
Body: Mikinaak Breastplate (Str path)
Hands: Phorcys Mitts
Ring1: Terrasoul Ring
Ring2: Spiral Ring
Back: Mauler's Mantle
Waist: Caudata Belt
Legs: Mikinaak Cuisses (Str path)
Feet: Karieyh Sollerets

Store TP amount: +33 Store TP (Including /Sam)

Having that much Store TP in my TP setup lets me true 5-hit even if only my first Upheaval hit lands, and I'm not really sacrificing much with that setup.

As a revision to the previous TP and WS sets I gave, with the new Skirmish armor pieces, the revised stats, and the fact that I'm no longer using a weapon with Store TP +8 on it, my TP setup is now.

TP

Main: Razorfury
Sub: Pole Grip
Ammo: Ravager's Orb
Head: Yaoyotl Helm
Neck: Asperity Necklace
Ear1/2: Steelflash/Bladeborn
Body: Armada Hauberk (Store TP +5, DA +3, Subtle Blow +5)
Hands: Cizin Mufflers (Attack +8, PDT -3% augments on it so far, working for better)
Rings1/2: K'ayres Ring/Rajas Ring
Back: Mauler's Mantle
Waist: Goading Belt
Legs: Ravager's Cuisses +2
Feet: Ravager's Calligae +2

Upheaval

Main: Razorfury
Sub: Pole Grip
Ammo: Iron Gobbet
Head: Yaoyotl Helm
Neck: Flame Gorget
Ear1/2: Moonshade Earring (Attack +4, TP Bonus +25)/Brutal Earring
Body: Mikinaak Breastplate (STR path)
Hands: Cizin Mufflers (same augments)
Ring1/2: Terrasoul Ring/Spiral Ring
Back: Mauler's Mantle
Waist: Caudata Belt
Legs: Mikinaak Cuisses (STR path)
Feet: Whirlpool Greaves

My sets are very similar to yours now, but Cizin Mail (even without augments) blows R15 Mikinaak body out of the water for Upheaval, doesn't it? Or am I missing something? Also, I just can't bring myself to TP in AF3+2 legs/feet anymore. I still pull hate often on Fracture NMs, and I'm just too squishy in that gear as compared to Miki or Cizin legs and Whirlpool feet. When the NM turns on me, it's usually not for long enough to warrant going to a -pdt or hybrid set, but for example, if the Raptor in Morimar turns on me for a few seconds (and he usually will after Sekkanoki and a few big WS), eating 3 attacks followed by a Ripper Fang can put me on the ground in AF3 gear. I survive it easily in Cizin/Miki/Whirlpool.

I think you could get away with Cizin Mail for Upheaval, and going for a more defensive setup, then yeah, something like Cizin Breeches and Whirlpool Greaves would beat out Empyrean +2 legs and feet. I just have a bit of a hard time giving up the +10% Crit Hit Damage from the feet during the TP phase. I actually don't have any experience in Delve on Warrior, since if I'm going a melee in there, I'm pretty much going Dragoon (one of my group's residential Dragoons), so I don't know how squishy it might be in there. That Raptor though can be a real pain, even in full -PDT, since he's a THF and can easily Triple Attack some of his TP moves.

Cizin has 25 STR and 25 VIT. At R15, Mikinaak has the same STR but with only 15 VIT. Yes, fully upgraded Mikinaak has +33 attack that Cizin doesn't get, but I don't see that 33 extra attack beating out 10 extra VIT on a 100% VIT mod WS. I'm not a math person, but it seems to me that Cizin wins hands-down.

I definitely hear ya on the Crit Dmg bonus from AF3 feet. It's a tough thing to let go of!

If you're at a point where your attack is capped, which really isn't hard to do just with Razorfury's +skill, let alone any outside buffs you might be getting, then yeah, Cizin would come out ahead of Mikinaak.
