How viable is Greatsword?Follow

Alright, i haven't played the game for..about 10 months. I plan on levelling up WAR once i get back, and i hope to mainly use a Greatsword since they're the weapons i always use in every game i play. Anyway, how viable is Greatsword now at 99? I notice there's no Magian Trials for Warrior GS, and it seems that everyone is a GreatAxe user now. I also don't have a way to get Ragnarok for a while, so what other Greatswords are good for Warrior? Also, any tips on a sub for warrior? I have /SAM and /DNC if i need it. But can Warrior even solo well? Thanks in advance.
Resolution is great weaponskill, one of the best meritable ones actually. The problem is war has a really bad selection for great swords, the only one worth mentioning is ragnarok. Without ragnarok, there's so many better options for war using great axe than great sword. If you're really keen on using great sword, I would suggest playing drk instead of war, they've much better selection vs war

What Redshift said. That being said, it is important for you to have Great Sword (as well as all other weapons) skilled up for use for Procing Weaknesses in endgame mobs.

Resolution is one of the best weaponskills in the game. Up there, tied up with Ukko's Fury.
However, WAR has a crap (really, really crap) GS selection. Only GS worth looking at is Ragnarok, everything else is crap.
So, how viable it is? Probably your best choice if you have a Ragnarok. Tied up with Ukko's if you have acess to it. Both Upheaval and Metatron come after.
But really, only viable with Ragnarok.

Guess I should ask, for earrings would it be viable to wear two earrinsg with criticail hit +1? As these earrings are rare in abby.

In situations where the mob has a high resistance to critical hit rate (tier 2 Mul Legion waves, etc), Ragnarok is going to do better. Likewise, for Mighty Strikes, Ragnarok is going to do better. For other situations, Ukonvasara will do better than Ragnarok.
As for earrings, the Light Earrings with Crit Hit Rate +1% aren't worth it. For TP (for the most part) you should be using Ravager's Earring and Brutal Earring, and for weaponskill you should be using Brutal Earring and a Moonshade Earring with Attack +4/ TP Bonus +25. If you don't have a Moonshade, then a Vulcan's Pearl will still be better.

A friend is trying to gear something fast to do Neo Nyzul isle. They're a career PLD so DD hasn't been their focus. They have good gear but only a STR Telamon. So solid but not exceptional. Obviously in the longer term an Ukon would be great but right now it's not practical.
If you were to choose between a Telamon GA doing Upheaval or someone using an Etourdissante for Resolution, which would be better ?
