Warrior nerf hammer in progress.....One of our best abilities now for spike damage. Can't say that I am completely surprised though, blood rage is a very nice and power job ability. Though if they make the critical hit damage from job trait strong enough we might come out ahead on our own personal dot.

Warrior Job Adjustments

Critical hit damage enhancement will be removed from the job ability “Blood Rage”

Previous effect: Enhances critical hit rate and critical hit damage for party members within area of effect.
New effect: Enhances critical hit rate for party members within area of effect.

The TP critical hit rate bonus for the weapon skill Ukko’s Fury will be reduced.

Adjustments and testing will be conducted in two phases.

Phase one:
Balance adjustments (as above) introduced to test server, feedback collected.

Phase two (introduction dependent on results of phase one testing):
Enhancement of job abilities Double Attack and Critical Attack Bonus.
Internal testing and balance adjustments to be followed by test server introduction and feedback collection.

Your Thoughts?

As I mentioned in the related topic in =10, I don't think this is going to really do anything to Warrior in the long run, since they mentioned that removing the Crit Damage boost from Blood Rage is due to them wanting to boost our Critical Attack and Double Attack trait, so likely the only downside once it's all said and done is that we won't be able to boost the Crit Damage of others in our party. The new trait will likely give us a fair amount of Crit Damage (not necessarily as high as Blood Rage's, but it might be) and it will be permanent, so this won't really affect our damage output much at all.

Can it really be called a Nerf Hammer if even afterwards you're still far ahead of the game?

Sure it can - it's still a reduction. In the past, things that put us "ahead" of the game like dual-wield were nerfed because a bunch of people who had DRK only were upset they weren't being invited to merit parties (despite these elements of the game being the very thing that made jobs such as Thief have an even playing field for merits). Fast forward to 150k/hour merit parties and that seems trivial, but in the history of this game, things were usually degraded for one job, because a bunch of oranges complained they weren't apples.

I think the better question is, who cares that is still going to be playing this game?

For me, if the jobs I like become boring, non-contributory or otherwise not worthy of me logging in, the only party that loses out is SE on my monthly fees. I'll spend my entertainment time and dollars on entertainment that isn't constantly tinkered with by out of touch creators.

Hope Tanaka and his ilk are reading that one.

War had Crit Attack III and DA2 (2% increase) on the test servers then it was removed in an update on said test servers, now they're nerfing BR and putting Crit Attack III and +2% DA back in.

Well, that's what the Test Server was for. I guess they realized that the Crit Attack III and DA2 traits with the boost from Blood Rage was a bit too much, so they opted to remove the Crit Damage effect of BR.

I really can't call 2% more DA too much especially with how DA works...

BR was roughly 4% crit damage considering duration; Crit attack III is 3%, but now you don't boost your allies' crit damage, and BR is pointless with MS up now (for the War anyway).

This + Upheaval are a convoluted plot to force us to merit Savagery.

I had Savagery merited anyway... after WC and 1 in Tomohawk for procs there's nothing decent left to merit but Savagery.
