Returning to FFXIFollow

I am returning to FFXI.

I am a 75 WAR 75 PLD.

It has been about a year since I was last into FFXI and I was wondering what type of changes have been introduced to the WAR class that are "Need to knows".

Also is there major gear changes that have been made?

I have a Osode, a few pieces of askar. Rajaas, Walhalara turbin.

War is HIGHLY valued now, but must be skilled & have WS quested.

Abyssea levels go so fast, Gear selection kinda moot 75-90... I think most just pick up Pearl set when going to Aby Exp @ 75. Its a good melee set with worthwhile set bonus & you can just macro in WS pieces.

Its a good idea maybe to start Trial GA, Fire path or several others are useful til you can get Empyrean or Widowmaker drop (Vermeil is acceptable to tide you over & is easy to get).

Pld is not used near as much by many, but still has good utility (& still over-laps much of War gear). Pld allows me to solo stuff I cant on BLM for drops also, so its nice to have both.

Your main goals at start will be : Getting stones built up for Aby--- Getting Cruor for Aby needs--- jumping in on shouts for zone boss & Caturae wins to equip Atma & getting good Atma (atma FAR outweigh any weak gear slots)

Once your War gets decked out, you'll be asked not to kill stuff so fast ! lol

(another main goal is to befriend a career WHM & find good LS)
