Usefulness of some old gear piecesFollow

Howdy folks! I recently came back to FFXI and have begun the process of catching up on all the new gear. My question is whether any of the following pieces are still useful. Feel free to say yes, even if your answer is something like "XXX is useful if you don't have ZZZ yet." Thanks!

Hecatomb cap
Perle hauberk
Hauberk +1
Hecatomb harness
Hecatomb mittens
Warwolf belt
Hecatomb leggings

Also, what leg and feet pieces should I be WSing in? And when should I use Grim Cuirass vs. Zahak's mail?

You can synergy augment the hecatomb but otherwise it's pretty much replaceed by new gear, you can use it until you get said new gear though. Use full perle unless you have more haste than full set, it's pretty basic set though and you'll want to get out of it ASAP.

Hachi Haidate / Empyrean+2 legs / Dominion Ops Bellicus Cuisses are good options to WS in for legs, Ares if you have it until you finish Empy legs/burn enough trophies for Bellicus. Heca feet is okay for legs until emp+2 inside Abyssea after you get Razed Ruins. There's also the new Jingang leggings as well.

I use Grim when Zerk down and Z Mail when Zerk is up but depending on the target/active buffs you can just use Z Mail regardless of Zerk up/down .
