Champion's Galea useful for WAR anymore?Follow
Title says it all. Is there any pair of augments that makes Champion's Galea useful for WAR in this day and age?

To me, if you don't have Zelus Tiara (whose nm I killed with TH7 and blue trigger and no drop) the haste augments work well in place of turban. Its not walmart turban, it has dex+2 and counter+3. Its pretty much an incredibly small sidegride only worth it if you see someone shouting for moogle d kupo fight.
Ultimately as of right now, Zelus Tiara seems like what you should be aiming for so you can substitute out haste for other gear (I.E. ravager's hands +2).

I think I'll end up making mine with ws dmg +2% mab +2 and use in my cataclysm set, and you can always use it when counter tanking war/mnk if you ever do that
Is there a better WS head piece than Galea with STR +4 WS Acc +15 Acc +10 Att +5? That used to be my MKE hat until I replaced it with a pet centric one for BST a couple of months ago.

Using Kinematics war spreadsheet, varangian beats it pretty much hands down.
With my current gear MKE head comes out at 2936, while varangian is 3067, with ravagers +1 slightly behind at 3009
Ravagers +2 comes out on top with 3110 in berserk down macros.
Berserk up ravager +2 is still top but +1 slightly beats out varangian
Even a top augmented heca cap +1 double atk +4 atk +10 str+5 which is highly unlikely is beat out by ravagers +2 inside abyssea

Is the +2 strength from varangian helm really better than the +10 dex, +1 attack and 20 accuracy twilight helm has over it?
Can get the spreadsheet from here along with ones for other jobs
and I forgot about twilight as I still haven't got one, according to the SS Varangian wins inside abyssea, but thats probably cos acc is capped and dDex is capped so its basically 2 str vs 1 atk.
