What weapons you guys using and atmas?

I am having a hard time doing more then 500 on an elemental ws, I have tried dagger, polearm, Scythe and greatsword.

Sword maybe better?

I am just curios what you guys use trying to get amber before killing is a pain.

It's the animation. All Drakesbane does is poke a mob and make lights appear. Ukko's Fury smashes a hole through existence itself to damage an opponent.

Main problem with doing elemental WS damage on WAR is that it takes gear/Atma that are contrary to what helps the job otherwise.

While Sanguine Blade will likely be decent, I don't think you're going to see much better numbers out of it unless you swap in some MAB atmas and the like, maybe a pseudo-nuking set if you can. I dunno, I can usually do in the 750-850 range on BLU with just MM for magic Atma, more with MAB drink/etc.

That said, 500 damage -should- be enough to killshot if other people are paying some attention.

I don't know that we get any of the decent elemental WS naturally.. Atmas would look like Ultimate/beyond/minikin.. or get the element damage + major for that element. Offhand I would say try ultimate/minikin/cosmos and Sanguine Blade. Unless you are trying to brew, though, you are best off using melee atmas and your best melee weapon.

Oh yeah, if you just need amber kills sanguine is gonna be your best bet. I would just go after ephemerals and whittle em down to low, and tell other people to stay away or pay attention. This may seem obvious, but ill say it anyways.. don't sanguine blade the dark based amoebans

Edit: Was posting from my phone.... daek was supposed to = dark

lol Ill help you guys out.
Get that Dark Staff Ready cuz Cataclysm is prolly the best Amber WS around. Great Damage, can be boosted VERY well with Atmas and has roughly twice the AoE Range as Fell Cleave. My group uses this WS a lot for Amber farming. Yes, you will have to switch to MAB Atmas to make it really work (2-4k Damage) but you can always just switch back when you move onto NMs/Cap Amber.

On a Side Note:
If your a little short on money, make a party with your friends/LSmates and go Amber-Cleaving in Konschtat... Those Dark Rings NPC for 33k a piece!

If you have a mercurial sword, herculean slash can do 2000+ with beyond/ultimate/griffinclaw/acsetics.

Not to mention tp'ing like a maniac.

i know this is an older post, but what in the world were you wearing to get cataclysm nearly to 4k? i just cant see it, i used 2 +MAB atma (60 total) and smiting blow with plutos staff, and with 100 tp i did 1100 to mandies in abyssea - tahrongi.

i know that atma is less than ideal, but removing the 2 MAB atma, and replacing it with cosmos and ultimate, i still cant see it doing much more than 1.7-2k at 100%.

I think because stacking MAB isn't as effective as stacking Cosmos, Ultimate w/ Smiting blow. Because unlike MAB each stacks on itself. Instead of 1 calculation.

So it's "1.5MAB + 1.4 darkness attack" VS "1.6MAB".

I found that out on the drk forums. When it was better to stack Griffin's claw(20%2h WS) over Baying Moon(+30MAB).

So I guess the difference on a normal 1000 dmg WS would be:
1600 w/ 60MAB.
VS
2100 w 50MAB and 40% darkness. Making it more than a 90% increase as implied.

When doing any elemental Ws its always better to use the "Element Damage +" atma's over MAB. The Elemental atmas are a direct +% boost to the final damage, their like the ele staves.

For S.Blade use,
Cosmos / Ultimate and either MM or Undying (the other +dark minor one) depending on what your doing. On BLU/RDM I can reach 2 ~ 2.6K that way. On brews I'm at 35~40K.

For Flash Nove use,
Holy Mountain / Beyond / Ultimate, can do 2 ~ 2.5K and brews for 20~30K.

Cataclysm follows the same rules that Sang Blade does, except your going to want an HQ Dark staff. The staff provides a +15% damage boost which is greater then anything else a WAR could main hand.

Aero Edge is a good AOE WS, use
Gales, Ultimate, and Hella / Baying or Beyond. Baying comes with +30 attack for TP damage, if that helps any.

Basically identify the ele WS in question, equip atma's that correspond with its element then use the biggest +MAB atma's possible.
