A quick question about GA choiceFollow

I'm fairly new to warrior, and I was wondering when it's recommended to switch from using a Neckchopper. I was thinking 30 and either a centurion axe or a Voulge, but as I said, I'm no warrior expert.

If you look down the list here, you can see how the base damage jumps up dramatically at early points there. Around 30, you're right, Voulge or Centurion's would be a fine choice to jump up from ~40 damage to ~50. Then again you see a jump at 37 with the Horror Voulge to 60 base damage. There are some good options in the mid-40s, though your real leap comes around 50 - Gigant Axe at 49 at 75DMG, though at 50 Leocus Voulge bumps things all the way up to ~80DMG. You don't see much better for overall DPS until the later 50s/early 60s - IMO, just go with whatever is decent and cheap/easy, you won't be sticking with them for too long, and any pricier low/mid level weapon will be a ***** to unload once you've outgrown it. Berserker's Axe at 69 is cheaper now, and will be a good pick until you get a Rare/Ex weapon (NM drop or Magian).

A consideration later on is that the "highest" DPS weapon might not be what favors your setup the most. It's a lot easier to build for a 6-hit setup on a 504 delay greataxe than a 488 or 482 or whatnot.

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I had expected that going up that much in damage would mean getting rid of it, I only questioned it because getting rid of that +5 acc is a hard thing to do when I've got acc problems without it.

Got accuracy problems? Eat pizza.

Realistically, you'd need to have some dangerously low Accuracy for Neckchopper to beat even Plantbane -- therefore, unless you're getting a 40% hit rate or lower, upgrade when you can.

I've thought about pizza, but can't afford to use it atm. Axe is only borrowed or I'd still be using a Moth Axe. But does my acc have to be that low for Neckchopper to even beat Plantbane? I'd of thought it would have been useful until you're acc was fairly high, thanks though!

Rice Dumplings can be good lower level food if you're worried about ACC. Static +5 on them, along with ATT/etc. Jackolanterns have 10 ACC/EVA, but little else.

To a point, yes, %-based foods like Pizza or Sushi have less appeal at lower levels, as your base pool of ACC is lower. As you get into the 30s or so you do get enough for it to mean something though.

Generally speaking though, until you get up a little higher and have access to a few meaningful ACC pieces of gear, a +5 here or there won't make a world of difference. Your accuracy is just going to suck in general...but that's why you use Shield Break >_>b

I had forgotten all about dumplings, it's been so long since I've been a low level. I'm trying to stay away from the % based because I do remember that much from when I last played, and ya, I do generally use Shield Break.. unless acc for the party looks pretty good.. like at 25 in Qufim. >.>

Little bit of the same position, regearing and such to get my WAR from 45 to 90. Though the thread isn't meant for it, I thought it'd be a fair place to ask about polearms.

Right now, I've been using a Horror Voulge for solo/lowman and a Halberd+1 for my East Ronfaure bird smiting needs. The Halberd is fairly strong and level 36, so right at a sweet spot there - I'm happy with it. What I'm wondering is when/if I should pick up another polearm for TOAU colibri camps. There seems to be a fair selection of warrior-usable polearms around that level and I'm not sure where to go.

At the moment I'm thinking about Thundercloud, mostly because it's classy and cheap. At level 53 it's available at the earliest levels of Wajoam. On the other hand, there's a stone's-throw chance I could end up in Garlaige in the late 40s and want something earlier - or I could hold out until 55 for the nice Battle Fork which outdoes Thundercloud by a bit.

Probably paying too much attention to this, considering the level sync situation. Thoughts beyond "just leech"?

Aside: It's weirdly ironic that for a long time there you couldn't get a party @36 without ERon[S] access. Now you can't find people with ERon access - is Whitegate next? Wouldn't be terribly surprised~
