Haste and Gear Question Follow

Real quick in situations where you arn't getting outside haste (either spell or song) how important is haste. (i.e. solo or sucky abyssea pts where the mages afk 1/2 the time)

Basically i am leaning twords swapping in AF3+1 head and Perle hands (instead of turban and nq dusk) if I am not getting any outside haste. (currious would the 5% haste from /dnc when solo (we get it when cap goes to 90) or the 10% from hasso change the solo answer?)

If i am getting either song or spell, (but not both) I was going to swap in perle for nq dusk and use Turban.

Only if I am getting both song AND spell will i use dusk and turban. Is this correct? Having a real hard time seeing 1% haste being better then 5 attack 4 str 2 dex when haste is only at about 34% to 38%.

Now if you throw in both song AND spell I ASSUME 1% haste would be better at 50-55% haste?

Anyways I have always had a bit of a hard time calculating how haste scales compared to some of the other stats, would like some help.

Do you use any of the str/att atmas? Not sure exactly when fstr and/or attwould cap, but that would take out a lot of the advantage that the both of those would give.

As for haste, how much exactly would you have without turban/dusk, assuming no spells/songs?

So 6% haste for 11 str, ~11 acc, 3% da, 2 dex, and ~29 att. That drops you down to 16% haste. If my math is right, 6% haste is just shy of a 7% increase in DoT, 7.1 delay vs 6.6 for 504 delay great axe.

You didn't mention atmas, do you use any str/att or acc/dex ones? I've managed to cap acc on everything in Abyssea I've fought on blu, except for the raptor nm, can't imagine war would do any worse.

Don't know what weapon you're using, but Atlas +1 is rank 12, so 48 str over the monsters vit to cap it. With +80 from str atma and cruor buffs, and possibly another +40 on top of that, fstr might be at the cap. I haven't seen anyone testing any of the vit levels on mobs in Abyssea though.

I'm not that good with the math yet, but the fstr stuff should be right, and pretty sure about the haste. Assuming that's right, I'd stay with turban and dusk.
