I got the Seismic Axe today and I was wondering if anyone figured out how to activate the Latent Effect on it yet?

The wiki seems to suggest it may activate under the effect of Sandstorm (SCH spell). Who knows if it will be worth using even activated.

yeah Didn't think it would out perform Byakko's Axe. I was just curious that maybe it might stack with the sea gorget and use it with Steel Cyclone. But yeah thats what I was thinking that earth weather activated it that or on earthday. Just wanted to see if anyone else got one and knew. Really didn't have time to mess around with it after I got it.

Friend of mine has it, says latent is just "during the wses soil gorget affects" and that it stacks with gorget. Works on KJ.

If it's anything like the gorget, the additional damage from the weaponskill would have to overshadow the next weapon's DoT to make Seismic Axe worthwhile. Somehow, I doubt it's anywhere near Perdu, or even Byakko's.

Yeah I didn't think it would when I got this I was originally after Zha'Go's Barbut which I didn't win. The only thing I'll replace my Byakko's Axe with is Perdu Voulge. the Seismic Axe is just a new toy for me which ill eventually get bored with and be placed in the back of my MH to collect dust
