With this announcement what do you guys think the best type of augments for some common WAR gears would be? Also, what equipment do you think would all of the sudden become more viable that were once considered garbage with the advent of the new system?

Lets make the following assumptions here about type of augments:
-Head/Chest/Arms/Legs/Feet gear of any type are able to be augmented. Other gear slots wont be augmentable (i.e. you cant augment your already l337 rajas).
-Attack and Accuracy augments will be available.( lets say 5-10 point increments)
-STR and DEX augments will be available. (3-5 points max per screen shots)
-Haste and DA augments available at 1%.
-They will be of reasonable difficulty to acquire.

Obviously we don't know what the specifics are yet, but based on the above assumptions what do you all think? Feel free to add your own assumptions if you care to comment.

I'd laugh if you had to do MMM for this.

Strange they would use that particular word there so I assume it probably has something to do with the new updates they're doing to Fields of Valor and the "Elite Training Regimens" they were talking about.

they don't seem to know how to gear their own characters... which is fairly self-evident given lots of jobs have shit for AF

This sounds like it could replace Republic Subligar. Other than that, maybe better WS head than Askar Head with 5STR and 3DEX or something?

If Byrnie is augmentable, then Haubergeon might be too. Just got Ares's for my WAR which is only marginally above / comparable to Haub+1 with enough acc pieces, so I'm not terribly enthusiastic considering Salvage gears are almost definitely going to not be augmented. On the other hand, if it's strong enough (highly doubtful) to render E.Body obsolete, then it'll be a happy day.

Knowing SE, we will likely be underwhelmed rather than overwhelmed. I'm going to guess that the equipment eligible for augmentation are going to be limited to low to mid level equipment with little to no stats attached. Even after augment, the change won't be major enough to be a replacement to some of the already good gear; a bit like level-synched gear, but hopefully better.

I wonder if weapons are going to be part of the system.

My bet is it's going to be good for midlevels, but won't really compare to gear once you hit the 60s. I think it's highly unlikely that we'll be able to augment gear with stats on it already, which will just leave base vanilla gear. I think Puppetmaster is going to get the most out of it.

This.

STP on Hauby would be /drool, though.

given their stated reasons for what they're doing, being able to augment current winners in various slots doesn't make sense. their stated reasons often don't mean anything though.

but who cares about conjecture? why are people even interested in topics like this? no offense, but i don't give a **** what you think the update is going to be. why would anyone else? i can see ****************** around the linkshell", but i don't get speculation forum topics. it's like "hey guys, let's speeeeeeculaaaaaate!" is it like some sort of campfire thing? i don't get it.

just wait for the update and you'll see for yourself what SE is going to do. then look for discussion to explain the ramifications if you're interested.

You think that's bad, you should check out this crap. As far as threads like this? No real reason for them, but hey, new thread, new places to post. A place to point back to say "HAY, TOLD YOU SO" is kind of fun to, if you're into that kind of thing. I like it in the "Hay, I know Square well enough to know how they're going to disappoint me ahead of time" kind of way.

Oh, and we really don't have much of anything to really discuss, ya'nnow? Like I keep saying, the only real arguments we have is multiple weapons versus single weapons and semantics.

This forum is a place to discuss things like this more than any other forum. Here we can discuss and speculate without fear of the torrents of abuse you can get in most of the forums on this site. The war forum has always been and will always be my safe zone.

It's nice to +1 wonder.

It'd be cool if you could augment some weapons that don't have +stats.

And yes store tp would be amazing on hauby.

love you guys. Smiley: inlove

We could figure out unknowns...

Like what actually effects retaliation, instead of the blind and somewhat random and unfounded speculationa and claims. I mean just look at the wiki. We have an entire paragraph explaining the nuances of it, but nobody knows how to make it work better.

Or King's Justice. Why the **** did it suck when I was using it in Vunkurl on some EP pugils, and then when I go into nyzul on DC-EM/Behemoth, I spike 1500 damage WS/1000 dmg WS? Nobody knows.

We have things to talk about, they just require effort none of us are willing to put out.

But other than that, ^

I dunno I just figured that we could identify some possible pieces of equiptment that could now possibly displace others as far as thier value to war. For instance, lets assume you could some how get 10 ac on your burnie/burnie +1. Would this surpass any potntial offensive augments you could make to the haub/haub +1? Things of that nature. I'd figure this is where we're going to be headed eventually so why not start looking at some candidate gears amongst the 5 armor slots. Anyhow, apologies if you found this not useful.

Okay, we've a few things we could discuss, but I don't think it'd make much of a difference with how we would do things in the long run. Even with the mythic weapon skill, they've all got some fluke hidden effect that causes weird spikes that seems totally random.
