If you can't afford the Neckchopper keep your Moth Axe until 25 and switch with Plantbane. The lvl 20 non 'Chopper great-axe is actually worse than the moth axe.

I would really, really recommend farming yourself money to buy a Neckchopper as it will last you from 20-31. I recommend farmingfire crystals and synthing them into Bronze Ingots or Copper Ingots

Fire crystal

4 x copper ore


Bronze Ingot - Blacksmithing (2)

Fire crystal

3 x copper ore
1 x tin ore

The ores can be bought at the Blacksmithing guild in Sandy or Bastok.

What a great idea, not sure if this is still working, but dashee on unicorn level 8 warrior is suffering from sword syndrome. Could use a great axe..

Upon levelling my Woodworking in San d'Oria I came across a Level 15 Warrior with a Polearm equipment.
I sighed dejectedly at him.
He asked me why and I said because he was using Polearm.
I was met with a polite "what weapon should I use?"
I said Axe or Great Axe and bought him a Hydra Axe for 40k.
I explained the benefits of G.Axe and he was only too happy to switch.
I mentioned about skilling it up and he immediately went off to Ronfaure to skill and added me to his friend list.
This was a glorious day!
Normally the new players I offer advice too tell me "I'm using Scythe as im gona b a drk and i dont care wut u sey so stfu noob"

How has this been going so far? Anyone have new imput on how this has turned out? I think its a great idea. Please add me (Atabe) to the Ramuh list. It would be best if I could send these via Delivery box (my 50 slots go fast ^^). Nice to meet you all!

I never have the money to give out great axes but i'm always too happy to explain to warriors why they need to use Great Axe.

I did the sane thing and CAMPED a neckchopper for my friend who started as a warrior lmao - by and large MUCH better then buying it...very easy to do if warrior is your second job or you have some friends above 35 or so.

This is true, and wickedbear is deeply sorry. I came to this forum today to check this very reason to see if anyone has taken over. I said my goodbyes, and no one cared or even knew who I was. That's ok, I never did much for the community other then offer some evidence that sarashi might be worth taking, and not to just take applepie's data for granted. I helped by trying to keep this challenge going, and offering advice to the thousands of questions that had been asked before, and probably are still asked today. I fought against some popular people on this forum for what I thought was misguided information and assumptions. However, if warrior is still the true class it once was, somone should be taking this challenge upon themselves, it is the last request for a dedicated warrior who hung up his axe a very long time ago.



I miss the days of coming to this forum to read new posts by quor, zalkaria, grumpywookie, and mumitroll. I miss reading wookie's funny stories and laughing about them with guildies(is he still around?). It was also nice to see just the general viewpoint of warriors in general. However, the community changed, the game changed, and warriors changed. People became unwilling to experince things, test things, and warrior became the new ranger(I quit before expansion). All the warriors on my server were afraid to do anything but sub nin and dual weild, it was tiring(not that that isn't a good choice, but for some levels its not really an option). When the forum became as narrowminded as my server did, i quit the game and the forum. I said my goodbye and no one even bothered to pick up this challenge when I requested it.

I quit a year ago like said. I said my goodbyes, and told somone to take up the challenge in my apsence but no one did my request. If you feel like you should now, please do, it is a worthy cause if you care about your class. I did this because I wanted to help the community know what warrior was truly about, and they lost that mindset, maybe somone can put them back on it.

Well, it's not really due to your influence or anything; more like personal preference and the influence of old forum posts as a whole...But when I play as my WAR, I go at it with /MNK and a G.Axe. Of course, I guess I'm jaded against /NIN rather than for it, but eventually I'll level my NIN sub for MNK main and then I'll probably try WAR/NIN... But I think I'll always prefer my G.Axe.
