Hey, so I just came back to the game and was told it is much easier to level solo now. I have a 40 blm and it seems soloing is soooooo slow. Question, can anyone help? I don't know exactly where to go or what to kill. I know the FoV things are typically a good way to kill things. What's the right sub job to use and spell order? I have always loved my blm and would like to get it leveled up and learn how to play better. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No subjob and throwing a nuke every 30 sec works fine.

Seriously the sj you use until you do NM's, pre- aby endgame and post-aby endgame doesn't matter. Level syncing will ***** with keeping your skills capped so be ready to work on capping those.

At 40 join the Crawler's Nest book burn. Stay til 60-65 and head to Bostaunieux Oubliette then til 75 or 99 if you want. Can also go keywhore yourself in Aby zones.

sadly I don't have alot of time to join book burning Mon-Fri. is there any good place to solo without having to go down to 100mp after every fight? I like getting more than 25 xp per EP kill each time, like when I left the game. Appreciate your reply though. When I do have time I will join a party

The way the alliances work is drop in drop out. The experience for ep is alot more then 25 per kill. I have gotten as low as 80 soloing to as much as 140 on one mob. If you are dead set on soloing your Blm then find an area with mobs you can sleep nuke with a book nearby. Kill the mobs on the pages, pick up refresh from the book and solo til you need to log.

it's how we used to do it in the bad old days, if you're only doing a few hours here and there it may work out better than fov as in keeping skills near cap. altho fov would prolly work out faster xp in the long run - as long as you dont leave the zone you're in, your xp per page buff will stay (you can logout and you wont lose it!)

I'm going to move this over to the Black Mage section, but that level range I actually would solo Summoner Elementals in Castle Zvahl Baileys right at the zone to the Keep. There's at least one Summoner that spawns near there, and you can pull the elemental into the tunnel and stairway leading to the Keep. If you absolutely need to, you can make for the Keep if you get aggro or anything (since there's also an Ahriman there that roams somewhat close to where you'd need to pull from), but if any of the Demons aggro you, then you'd basically be screwed due to how quickly they move.

If you want to go the Grounds of Valor route, I think one of the most suitable ones for you would be Page 6 in Maze of Shakhrami, since that'll take you up to lv. 43 and involves a number of worms, which you can easily solo on Blm since they're stationary.

As for subjobs, at lv. 40 none of them really give you too much over the others. At 42 you can sub Rdm to get Gravity, which makes fighting them a bit easier, but in general, at 40 nothing's going to give you too much of an advantage over anything else.
