I just got meteor and...Follow

A Chatoyant Staff will do little for the overall damage from Meteor, given that Meteor is a non-elemental spell. Its damage is affected by Magic Attack Bonus, INT, and Elemental Magic Skill (despite its non-elemental nature) and your gear should factor into that. Since it is being cast under the effects of Elemental Seal, Magic Accuracy is something you don't need to worry about much at all.

I'll give what is probably the best set right now for Meteor, and you can adjust your gear accordingly based around that. I'll also exclude the BLM mythic weapon, since while it is the best weapon for Meteor, it is also really hard to come by for obvious reasons.

Weapon: Ankylosis Wand (w/ Latent activated), Dorje (other options include Maleficius and the final stage of the INT/MAB Ice Magian weapon)
Grip (when using Dorje): Wizzan Grip, Elder's Grip
Ammo: Witchstone, Memoria Sachet
Head: Nares Cap
Neck: Stoicheion Medal
Earrings: Novio, Hecate's, Strophadic
Body: Morrigan's Robe +1
Hands: Morrigan's Cuffs +1
Rings: Sorcerer's, INT +7 Rings (Strendu to a lesser effect)
Back: Romanus Cape
Waist: Maniacus Sash, Othila Sash
Legs: Akasha Spats
Feet: Morrigan's Pigaches +1

Predominantly you're going to want INT and MAB (moreso the MAB), so any purchased pieces of gear should be heavy in those stats if possible. Empyrean +2 pieces can act as stand-ins during the interim of acquiring those gear pieces I listed earlier.
