ok guys i was a well seasoned merited lv 75 BLM when i left...i might as well be a noob now though. What are some keys things i need to know about?
You'll want to upgrade some staves through Trial of the Magians. You'll probably want at least the fully upgraded Thunder damage staff and Ice damage staff.
If you don't have Abyssea yet, buy all 3 Abyssea add-ons. The exp in there is ridiculous, and BLM is very much in demand for both exp as well as gear farming in there.

lol i am soooo lost. im at the old pudding camp and noooooobodys around. any1 on shiva that feels like showin a old noob around?
Head to Port Jeuno, that is where everyone is hanging out. You will find party shouts, linkshell shouts, boss shouts, etc there. Also, turn your /yell filter off so you can see both shouts and yells in Jeuno.
Once you get going, you will want to upgrade your gear to AF3, which is the empy gear. For blm it is called goetia. The set is pretty sweet.

wow...um..ok alot has changed alright. white was empty as a tomb...and the old pudding camp was empty too...no one was even lving in the dunes!!! i dont have the newest expansion (i have all of them up to the wing of the goddess) and so maybe everyone (even low lvs???) is parttying there? can someone please tell me where different lvs are partying at now? i plan on get the expansion soon. i actualy got yelled at by one of the 3 guys in whitegate for asking for help. dude said i was trolling...
Port Jeuno is the new central hub now as it is more convenient to get to places now due to being able to warp to places quicker with Abyssea and Voidwatch npcs. Alot of low leveling is done in Grounds of Valor alliances as book exp builds over time and quick kills in alliances you be raking in exp in no time. GoV alliances can be found in Gusgen mines, Crawler's nest, Bostaunieux Oubliette, and Zehrun Mines. You can stop here at 75 to go into abyssea to level or continue to level outside while your traverser stones builds up. http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Grounds_of_Valor
