AF2+2 as a nuke set:
128 MP
23 -Enmity
43 Ele Magic
10 MAB (weak)
18 INT (weak)

AF3+2:
100 MP
16 -Enmity
15 Elemental Magic Skill
23 MAcc
25 MAB
25 INT

My initial reaction is that's a whopping load of meh, let's go piece by piece:

Head: Slightly more base MP and nuke potency than AF3+2 at the cost of 1 -Enmity and set bonus.

Body: Slightly more Elemental Magic MAcc and -Enmity than AF3+2 body at the cost of a lot of nuke potency and set bonus.

Hands: 3 more Dark Magic Skill than AF2+1, but still less nuking MAcc than AF1+1. MB boost TBD but I never personally bothered.

Legs: They removed the day/weather correlation bonus. THEY REMOVED THE DAY/WEATHER CORRELATION BONUS. Moving on, slightly more nuke potency than AF3+2, more -Enmity than AF3+2, at the cost of a 10~ MAcc.

Feet: Less nuke potency than AF3+2, 5 more Elemental Magic accuracy.

TL;DR: AF2+2 weak **** up your hands for dark magic set.

Dissapointing to say the least.

I still have hope for the +3s at least.

I agree, this update is pretty lackluster.

I noticed that too. Do you think they really removed it, or was it just left off of the post on BG? I still carry these around with me for that sole purpose.

Now that I think about it, I seem to remember a few lines being left off of gear in a prior update thread, let's hope that this is more of that.

I don't know the specific details, but I recall reading that the method used to scan the dats doesn't show effects that weren't modified (or something like that), so there's a very good chance that the bonus wasn't removed.

That being said, I'm a loser and haven't bothered with Spellcast yet, so it wouldn't affect me much even if it was removed. We nuke so **** fast now that I sometimes have trouble even hitting a macro mid-cast to equip my elemental day/weather gear.

Well, at least I don't have to worry about doing trials for these.

Looks like a few Goliard +5 pieces will topple Goetia +2. All good things must come to an end, hopefully at least 2 pieces stay legit so the set bonus may live on~

Goliard as a nuke set:
21 INT
33 MAB
22 MAcc
-10 Enmity
5% MCrit
5 Conserve MP
10% Fastcast
10% MP

AF2+2:
128 MP
23 -Enmity
43 Ele Magic
10 MAB (weak)
18 INT (weak)

AF3+2:
100 MP
16 -Enmity
15 Elemental Magic Skill
23 MAcc
25 MAB
25 INT

Best mix-n-match looks like Goliard Head, Body, and Feet, Goetia +2 Hands and Legs. Goliard hands beat Goetia hands by a small margin, but I'd rather have at least a little AF3+2 set bonus in my life. Happy about the -Enmity on body, always thought SE should put a little -Enmity everywhere instead of asking you go out of your way and sacrifice potency.

Slightly off topic, but these Nyzul updates make me eager for the eventual Salvage armor updates.. Morrigan's has always been one of my favorite looking sets (Salvage armor models in general, actually). If they're giving Nyzul armor, which was pretty good for its time this kind of treatment, Salvage gear should knock our socks off.

Sorry, just a bit of daydreaming here. Continue on.
