So I'm just curious, what kind of numbers should a top geared ultima/beyond blm be getting?

It's really dangerous to proc S ring so for most things that's out, I struggle to break 5k currently and use pretty much the best gear and atmas there are. Is this normal without S ring procs?

I have the Varuna's Staff +2, AF3 Body and Legs +2, rest is +1, goetia chain, searing cape, cog belt, hecates and moldy, witchstone, and +5/+7 int rings. I do not have ultima atma, so when I use beyond/baying I consistantly get 4500 Blizz 5. I don't know if that helps put it into perspective. I don't have obi's or other day/weather items because I haven't had access to sea for very long. I would be interested to see how Blizz 5 hits on iceday with twilight cape and AF2 legs though.

I am also curious what others are wearing and how much dmg they are doing.

I have all of that +novio earring, - twilight cape(use searing) and not counting obi and I get just over 5k o.O. How are you hitting 6k? Same atmas too.

well that's definitely for trash mobs, not NMs. didn't mention all furtherance abyssite, int merits, ascetic's tonic, etc. though that's assumed i'd guess. i do hit a lot of mid 5000s outside of iceday, but 6k is the upper end depending on mob type.

Mid 5000s on neutral day, xp trash mobs, no set proc sounds about right. Around 6k with ascetic's, iirc. I don't pay super close attention to the numbers anymore. Goet+2, max INT merits, lots of abyssites, cream puff, etc. Next time I'm out blowing things up, I'll try to remember to record some hard numbers.

Why is it that when someone asks a general damage question, there inevitably one guy who has to chime in and say it's "this", but then just so happens to not mention the million buffs, food and temp items on magic weak mobs etc.

The OP was obviously asking for a general range of damage, not the absolute max under perfect conditions. Guess it's an ego thing though.

Varuna +2/Bugard/x/Witch
Goet+1/Artemis/Novio/Hecate
Weskit+6 INT/Eradico/7INT Diamond/Sorc (on worms)
Searing/Cog/Goet+1/Goet+1

Ascetic, a good amount of abyssites, max INT metirs, and Puff. With good moon phase, 5.2k+ non-iceday, just enough to one-shot worms. Take sorc or ascetic off and you can leave some mobs at less than 15% for the melee to pearl/amber.

For those wondering if a Sorc Ring BLM drives the WHMs crazy with their 800ish HP, I'm pretty sure they can stomach it for 100 unassisted kills an hour coming out of one alli slot. If I ever get +2d enough to not need sorc it'll be one of the first things to go, though... getting Mikey'd is so 2010.

So yeah, you need to be just about perfect without +2 to one-shot. And live on the edge. Actually, I think I may have gotten out of needing puff with REALLY good moon pct. I forget how I came to this number, but there's a large difference between Artemis at 35% (my low end cutoff) and 90%+.

My gear is similar to most listed above, though usually only 2 or 3 of us so I leave off the ultimate for apoc. On standard critter I sually hit 4500ish on bliz5

For the 10-12k guy sorry to say I think you are full of crap. Screenshot pls.

Technically he said 10-12k with set bonus proc, which is entirely possible. Set bonus boosts your damage by double the percentage of MP you conserve; since it's possible to get a 50% Conserve MP proc then it stands to reason you'll occasionally see a 100% damage boost.

My nukes usually do slightly over 5k, for what it's worth. I've seen a 10k land once, which was impressive but will obviously be rare. So he's exaggerating, but not by a lot.

Obviously not everyone believed my estimates. As promised, some actual numbers. On Sand Sweepers, neutral day. Mostly VT and IT to 90 because there were plenty of others killing them. And I'm pretty sure I forgot to eat my cream puffs most of the time. Most common values I see in the logs:

Normal Bliz V, no Ascetics, no set proc: 5558, 5574, 5582
Bliz V with Ascetics: 6070, 6088, 6097

Best set proc

Sadly I made my name up... Had no clue it was used in Japan..... When I made my name I said I wanted it to start with an F. Then I literally said outloud "um...." Like I was thinking and combined the 3 and there was Fum. Then I said I wanted to sound JP. And added Iku. And thus Fumiku was born. Later I find that IKU on the end was manly for chicks and I was sad..... Oh well lol. Was to late to change! LoL.

Btw I mostly log in at 2 am or later est. Work the Second shift...

Not seeing it would make me Smiley: cry! I have my 5/5 +2 set now and the only thing I think I am missing is Ultimate. I am seeing consistent 4900 now, so it went up about 400ish, with a set proc of 9800ish!

Want to have some fun and see some crazy numbers. Your average nuke will drop by about 500-800 dmg but you will proc the 10-12k numbers a lot more. its great for some giggles but I wouldnt advise it for any serious session.

Wise Strap
Witches Sash
Atma of the Fetching Footpad
MM
and Beyond

Makes for a lot of Fun numbers Nuking.

MAB minor, Mag Crit rate % major, conserve MP superior.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Atma_of_the_Fetching_Footpad

My question is ... are you equipping this to try and force set procs? I currently equip 2 MAB major and MM.

Hmm I am not a math mathmatican but maybe the -mp is enough for a bliz 5 and if thats the case then is the extra 100-300 dmg we are getting per spell worth using it if we are getting more 10k spells?

Then you get into restore chest being there and -mp not mattering and so on and so forth.

I think I will try this though. Seems really fun.

Atma of the Fetching Footpad

"Magic Attack Bonus":Minor
Magic Critical Hit Damage+:Major
"Conserve MP"+:Superior

The increase in Mag Crit Hit Dmg
And Conserve MP+ for the AF3 set to proc more often.
