Ive been playing FFXI alittle over 2 days now and im lvl 15 BLM and my problem is i cant seem to find any armor/robes for my character. I am a Tarutaru and decided to start in San D'oria because thats where my friends started. I know there wont be many armor choices open to me atm but i would like to see something else because quite frankly im getting quite bored of looking at this crappy green clothes set! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you're sandorian you can buy a nice robe with conquest points: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Royal_Footman%27s_Tunic whenever sandoria is in first place.
Have you looked on the auction house?
Also a lot of npcs sell gear - it isn't the best but it can be quite servicable.

It only costs 1500 gil from an npc in Selbina or Port Windurst.

A lot of the Black Mage and White Mage gear easily available to a newcomer sucks until you are in the 20s. Just wear the best you can find and deal with it until then. Keep up on your spells and keep leveling.
iirc there isnt much until seers at 29, that is unless you want to "pimp" yourself at 20's with barons. Otherwise just take INT + MP items as they come.
