af3+1 solo>?Follow

With that range of jobs you can probably kill plenty of stuff that will drop seals for +1's. I'm not going to go so far as suggesting particular NM's, but start with feet/legs/head and see how you go. You can also quest for seals but it can be boring and drop rates suck.

Funeral Apkallu (legs) and Gnawtooth Gary (feet) can be soloed by NIN/DNC. You'll want 3 really good atmas to be able to solo them in a timely manner though. If you don't have that, then you might be better off looking for a pick up group that's doing those NMs, and go as BLM to help proc yellow.

Head ~ wherwetrice is cake, his petrify and mute do not last very long. I did not solo it, I came on blm for triggers, but my BF basically solo'd it on nin/dnc while I just shot out the occasional nuke for trigger purposes. Even when petrified and muted he was able to outlast the dmg before he could get shadows up.

Legs ~ I had the hardest time trying to get legs to drop. Funeral Apkallu was definitely the easiest and supposedly had the highest drop rate, but I only ever saw 3 seals total drop from it. Also solo'd by a nin/dnc. I ended up getting my leg seals from Nonno w/ a group of 4. He hits a lot and very hard!

Feet ~ Feet were by far the easiest. I watched a nin/dnc solo the gargoyle, although you have to be VERY careful for its spikes when it sits down. I did get a few seals from this, but I was on rdm and my BF was on nin/dnc. Ended up finishing up these seals on Gnawtooth, which is a completely easy solo, even w/o procs the drops were plentiful.

Hands and body will require at least 2 ppl, as the nms are more difficult in the heroes zones. The good news is with a solid trio or quad, they are still relatively easy to do.

Blazing Eruca (head) is stupid easy RDM/NIN with movement atma kiting around and under the arch just north of it's spawn point. Keep it Addled and outrun the occasional AOE. Dont nuke while it's casting.

Nonno (legs) can be soloed RDM/BLU, stoneskin/cocoon tanking with a decent -PDT set. Use Emphaikos Rope for Aquaveil and keep it up at all times to ensure you get Stoneskin back up each time it falls. Nuke after each new Stoneskin. Keep poison and bio on him. Slow and Para are pretty useless. Dont melee, or use the Ceremonial Dagger/Enspell trick.

Koghatu (hands) is stupid easy RDM/NIN with movement atma kiting in the open area near flux 7. The trick is to sneak pull him to the "hallway" on the way to flux 7, cast poison so he doesnt go unclaimed, outrun him then recast sneak before you exit the hallway. He should stay claimed all the way to flux 7.

Koghatu & Blazing Eruca can also be done BLM/NIN. Though much more difficult, it will give you a much better chance at yellow.

To be honest though, you will get your seals much, much faster and easier by shouting for a 4 man pick up group for each of those NMs. Much faster kills, more pops, and a much better chance at yellow.

In my experience, even if you have limited playtime, it's not worth it to try to solo these NMs for a couple of reasons:

1. The seal drop rate without yellow stagger is less than amusing. Even if you get lucky and get a drop, the probability of it being one of the other 3 seals that NM drops is high and getting a useless seal after a 20-30 minute solo fight is frustrating.

2. Most times, there's another group waiting to fight the same mob. All you're going to do is waste their vistant time and piss them off in the process of getting a crappy drop rate.


If you don't want to wait for a pickup group, I have 2 suggestions.

1. Find a whm/blm friend and go on darkday or lightday. The probability that the whm/blm will be able to stagger is reasonably high and a whm main can duo most seal mobs with just about any decent tank/dd job. MNK and NIN both work well here.

2. Go solo anyway, but be on the look out for other groups fighting the NM. From the perspective of the other group, it's almost always worth it to alternate pops/drops with the soloer than it is to attempt to out-pop the NM and lose valuable time when you miss the chance.

As an example, I went out with a blm friend to duo Nonno (the lil mandy in Misareaux) for my blm seals but we found another group out there duoing as well. After losing 1 or 2 pops to them, we suggested combining our efforts. Not only was the kill speed at least triple what it was before, but we were able to cover more stagger options and we both got more seals than we needed.

My point is, get rid of the solo mindset. Find a duo partner and go with them, with the idea that maybe you can team up with another group that is already there. There's absolutely zero need to sit in Jeuno and shout for a pickup group though.

Agree on AA as bst, but sadly i have only completed 1 brd, 2 pup and 1 smn AF3+1 and only got so far 2 blm seals >.>;

What did you killed for hands and legs? strategy? jug used?

Id go for the rabbit personally, and I did! Varney is 10-15 minute timed spawn and you might come up against competition from Bukhis groups. You could always run back and forth between Varney and Garry I guess but getting pops for the rabbit will mean spending more time at the bunnies.

For pet/atma: Yuly using Gnarled Horn, Razed Ruins and either Stronghold or Mounted Champion. Oh and Spiral Spin. You need to melee with him to have enough damage, and you need to sub NIN to block Whirl Claws.

Soloing Wherewetrice on BST is pretty easy and safe.
