So I took a few months off from the game and just recently came back about 2 weeks ago. Already got my Rdm/Blm/Mnk/War up to 90. My question is, in the time that I've been back and xping, I haven't seen very many if any Blm's using Sorc ring. With Atma's now do people just not use it anymore? I checked the price on the AH and before I left it was around 1.5mil. Now it's around 380k.

I'd say it dropped in price from people selling off gear before an update and avoiding their gear becoming obsolete. It's still the single best ring for BLM.
With Heroes of Abyssea looking like the end of Abyssea and Atma's being limited by being in Abyssea only, I'd place my bets on it going back up in price for what ever SE decides to release for 91-99.

Honestly, with over 150 mab already, it's advantage over aquilo's ring is significantly lessened (though obviously it is significantly better still). Also, it requires you to drop upwards of 1k hp, which is not always a realistic option. I rarely use it myself.

why do you need to drop 1000 hp? i still get yellow hp by dropping the amount of hp i would have to with my base hp outside abyssea. i think you need to look over how the hp buff works again.

then why am i at yellow with 1300ish hp out of 1700ish?
(not gearing blm atm and going to abyssea right now to get exact numbers i'll do that tomorrow and repost)

if it's best in slot i'm wondering why you wouldn't use it then if you can proc it. perhaps i misread your post but it looked like you couldn't proc it.
and i know you don't have to hit yellow hp to have latent active, i mentioned it to show that the hp boost isn't figured into what would trigger the latent on the ring.

if i'm sitting at 1300ish hp and can proc it you should be able to have 1k hp. not sure why you're not using hp boost from cruor prospector enhancements. can still proc latent and you have enough hp to easily survive with buffs/manawall/emnity douse.
anyways, big difference between rarely and not always. you mentioned before that you rarely use it now you're saying not always.
edit: 1300ish AFTER i proc it.

No you can't. Hp boost doesn't change the threshold for sorc ring. If you need 800 hp to activate it outside abyssea, then you need 800 to activate it inside abyssea. It's no different than how convert hp<->mp works in relation to sorc ring.
I mostly only use it for -gaing, since there's no risk involved, and i always have manawall anyway. For nms, i just about never use it.

where's your testing that shows this. i gotta find the thread on the testing that i read that says you can use hp boost and still proc it.

You can still use hp boost, but it won't change the threshold for it. You need to change to -hp gear, then cancel hp boost to activate it. This is nothing new. I'll go retest it for ya though.
