Some thoughts regarding the Zodiac Ring, obtained from the WoTG Windurst-S path "At Journey's End" quest--

Thus far, the ring has been demonstrated to offer 3% damage bonus on matching day & spell element, and removal of damage penalty from mis-matching day & inferior spell element. However, one open question remains whether or not the ring has any impact on magical accuracy (very difficult to test).

If there happens to be an penalty negation for M.Acc as well, this ring could be a useful swap piece for enfeebling. Paralyze on Firesday, Sleep on Lightsday, etc?

Just to clarify, if you cast a spell weak to the current day, are you saying that the ring does not itself impose a penalty on Day/Weather Bonus (DWB) or are you saying that the ring does not allow the normal -10% penalty on DWB?

This data set is from Wiki. The casts here were done on Ice Day.

It doesn't look like the Zodiac Ring removes the damage penalty for casting an element weak to the day. It does appear, however, that the Zodiac Ring does not impose an additional penalty.

Interesting, so it would seem that I am reading the current wiki description ("No damage reduction to any spells cast that are categorized as inferior to the current Vana'diel day.") in an over-optimistic manner. Thanks for the analysis.

Given that description, I can see how you came to that conclusion.

I agree the language could have been interpreted either way. I modified the wiki to hopefully clarify a bit. Feel free to reword if you don't like it - wiki is only as good as we make it, after all.
