I tried Campaign for the first time yesterday as Lv.63THF/DNC, pretty fun, I get 1-2 shotted by NMs but at least my ANs are going up. I thought I'd try my Lv.75BLM/WHM, figured I would be more useful healing/nuking, but the exp/AN started to suck.
What do BLMs do in Campaign to get good exp/AN? Also, a melee job can keep going as long as he lives, but as a mage I have to heal once in a while, which creates lots of downtime.
Suggestions {Can I have it?}

I honestly cant answer this one. I usually go as thf or sam/rng and have super fun.
I've been reading that to get your desirable amount of xp/AN you have to get in and melee. I think you pretty much end up acting like a RDM but with less melee skills and harder-hitting Nukes (if you choose to use them rather than keeping MP around to cure all the damage you'll take from AoEs...).

The only alternative to meleeing as BLM is to -ga nuke a large group of mobs with Reraise up. After you die, get back on your feet and put up Reraise again. Rest off weakness, and repeat.

magic caps are too low. It's too easy to reach them with just T3/T4 nukes--conserve the mp for enfeebles/cures/raises/buffs to cap that side as well.
The real xp comes from dealing out the damage with your weapon. Close chains for extra credit--burst off them as much as you can too. SAM's love to spam Gekko a lot--which is an easy Darkness chain for you if you have Retribution. Watch the patterns and you will catch some distortions. You can burst of them directly, or also make some darkness chains with retribution for bursting on.

I have pretty much all my chat filters turn on when in Campaign, the spam is horrible, plus all the NPC spam, I might have a hard time pulling MBs.
Another problem I found in Campaigns is that people refuse to join parties, and I don't understand why. As a THF I want a Trick Attack partner, but I've been having a hard time getting people to join me, or me joining them, and it's not because they're afraid of getting mob hate, they just ignore invites.
I think I'll try BLM/DNC with double Lilith's Rods and Aspir Samba, should be interesting.

Some people may want to LFG while doing campaign. Or even if they don't have their party flag up, they may want to be available for a pt invite.

You'd be surprised what an attractive incentive it is to be able to get EXP while not being accountable to anybody.
