I'm wading through posts and I'm looking for a link to or some help on endgame gear.

The Shadow Coat set looks great for endgame but I don't particularly like the physical/magical/damage taken +

I know morrigan's is good as well as yigit and genie.

I'm looking for a mix of elemental magic skill, matt, and macc. I am making an ultimate list and an alternate list. There are, like most jobs, multiple pieces for each slot.

Enfeebling Skill or INT or MACC/MATT
Elemental Skill or MACC/MATT

I solo for xp on odd job combos. SMN/THF FTW!

There's plenty of posts on here for maximum or ideal sets. You dont want "a mix of things", but rather maximizing your sets and carrying several different sets. IE, max damage set, dark set, enfeebling set, etc.

I was talking a mix of INT, skill and MATT/MABB for each set.

-Sky for Zenith Mitts, Kirin's Pole (but don't nuke in this. . .)
-Nyzul Isle 20, 60, and 100 for Goliard Feet, Hands, Head
-Sea for obis, enfeebling and elemental capes, prudence torque, novio earring
-Limbus for AF+1 head, body, hands, nashira body, feet
-Einherjar for gleeman's cape and omega ring
-Dynamis for AF2, most of it is good (legs, hands, head, belt, body is a free black cloak!)
-ZNMs for Oracle's Body, Head, Hands, Legs (resting gear, hands good for enfeebs, nyzul head better if you have it by this point), numerist pumps/avocat pigaches
-Salvage for full Morrigan's Set

Rest is AH stuff and moldavite earring. Can't think of anything else.

Stop looking at "sets". The only good full set is Morrigan's. Everything else is mix and match.

There is no blanket "endgame gear" that you can just equip and forget about everything else. (morrigans body is the only exception imo, but even then you would macro in AF+ body for enfeebs) You have to equip wisely, know what your fighting, and what you need for your gear to make it work. Casting fire on suzaku in the best gear in the game will yield you nothing. Yet the part time blm standing next to you casting water spells will always win in the parse.

You need to get a feel for the amount of elemental skill is needed to land nukes unresisted on what your fighting, then max the int and Mab only after you are at that point. Like the above posters said you need at least a Max ele skill gear set and a max damage set, with a set in-between to use as a starting point to see how you do. Then switch gear around to max damage while keeping resists to a minimum.

Also what has yet to be mentioned is HMP gear. Getting mp back fast is always important, and should be very high up on your things to upgrade list at all times.

Even with full Morrigan's there are situations other than enfeebling where a mix-n-match set is going to outperform full Morrigan's attire.

Yea, I guess I misspoke. I dont think casting in any 1 "set" of gear is a good idea ever. "Sets" being like blm af, or morrigans. Its always best to mix and match to make the most out of every slot.

Don't get me wrong, full Morrigan's is the best for damage under most conditions, just not all.

OH I agree totally, but for the OP, if you have to ask this question, you probably don't have any morrigans. And the core of what everyone is saying is correct. Mix and match different gear to make the most out of every slot.

Reminds me of a rdm I know who casts everything in full relic. Sure relic is great and I'm happy for you to have it, but if your casting slow2 in full relic you might as well be half naked for all the good its doing you. The same can be said for blm relic. The key phrase "Sh*ts situational" apply in most things mage, and part of your skill as a player is to know what gear is best in what slot for which spell. If you can not grasp this concept "endgame gear" means nothing.
