Are herald's gaiters worth the gil?Follow

I'm still trying to learn more about this interesting piece of equipment, and have read some about it on Kanican's Journal and some other sources. I dont have the gil or the level to actually use them, but was wondering from people who are experts, are they actually worth getting? From what I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that the reason they are so good is because you can keep running and blink kite magic. My other question would be, since you should be able to solo certain mobs that normally can't be, which ones are actually worth doing it to? I know you can do long-bowed chariot and kaiser behemoth, but my ls said there is no reason why you would have to solo them. Just looking for some feedback. Thanks!

Gaiters are one of those last buy items for completions sake. There aren't very many things where you would need Gaiters for, they are nice to have, but never really needed.

If it turns out that you are a person that enjoys to solo then yes, they're worth it. If you turn out to be a person that only does stuff in a group then the return on investment will be much lower.

As a number of people have pointed out so far, Herald's are 'prolly the last thing you need to worry about gear wise, but again, it will end up depending on what you want to do with blm.

Gaiters open up options no other piece of gear can making them well worth the cost assuming that you have all you normal gear first and are just shooting for the big ticket items like novio or gaiters.

It's more than a bit suspicious when someone is willing to throw around 10m+ from just asking a single question to a forum without doing their own research. Guessing you didn't earn that gil.

If you are a player that spends the majority of your time soloing/lowmannin or want to be the type of player that spend the majority of their time soloing/lowmannin kited fights, then yes, these are more than worth the gil.
There are some fights where the gaiters aren't needed but make things easier, and there are fights where if you didn't have gaiters you'd surely not be able to do the fight, either way, you'll love them for the vast difference they make in your everyday gameplay.


As for me personally, I got most of my HQ gear on blm and sch before trying to buy heralds gaiters. If i had the choice, I would definitely get them again. However, if i had the choice and could choose when to get them, I wouldn't have waited till i had everything else for blm. I would only wait as long as it took me to get an HQ staff set of the ones that matter, and the rest of nq gear that would be substantial. After that I would sink the rest of my gil into getting heralds, then use the benefit heralds provided me to make money faster, and finish buying the rest of the blm gear I needed. My personal opinion and reasoning for this, is that with gaiters, i know i could make the money back much faster to get the rest of the blm gear and do it a lot easier. What would probably take me 3-4 months to accomplish, i prolly would have accomplished in 2-3 months if i had the gaiters to support the ways i made gil.

I hope you meet your goal of getting them, and I also hope that you get as much use of them as some of the rest of us do. They're quite an incredible toy. GL ^,^

He said he doesn't have the gil and has read about it on several other places, I am just assuming he decided to do even more research and maybe get some specific questions answered on his own?

should be on average 5-10 new pair per server popping up in the middle of this month if everyone chooses them for mog prize that wins (which they should). Maybe half of those will be sold. I'm hoping to snatch a pair up if I see them. If not, I guess I'll have to transfer a mule. Like I said, I haven't seen any for a year on siren.

Herald's would be worth it to me simply because, as has already been said, it's the only way to get Movement+ gear for BLM. It already takes long enough walking from A to B, every little bit helps....

Regarding the lottery, I would have to go with Morrigan's, simply because it's too good to pass up. Seeing as how I'll probably never do Salvage enough to even consider putting the pieces together, this is pretty much my only shot.
