So my BLM has beed 75 for.. oh... 2 years or so... And I've finally decided its time for me to start doing some endgame stuff. The second i hit 75 i quit.. Don't know why, i just did... But i'm back in the saddle and ready to do what it takes.

MY questions are:
> What buyable gear (preferably for the frugal) should i invest in most importantly? And after which, what assualts should i be looking towards doing?

> What are the most important merits for me to get before I start doing Dynamis and sky?

> I know /rdm and /whm are 'requirements' for some events, but with the addition of SCH, is it something i'd need to have leveled for blm? and am i missing any subs?

Thats all I can think of right now... I'm sure i'll come up with more.

Edit: fixed the wall of text

1. HQ staves are a must. Other then that, just /check pretty much any 75 blm, and copy their basic gear.

2. Elemental magic 8/8 are pretty nice for Sky gods, Enfeebling 8/8 are very good to have too. BurstII and FreezeII at least unlocked are good for MBs if you ever do those in your LS.

3. Nope, /rdm and /whm are all you -need-, /sch is pretty nice for sky gods when you don't have to many other duties then make mob dead, and stun.

>I think you should already have stuff like igqira weskit, errant pants, phantom tathlum, and diamond rings. For the expensive stuff, you should go for HQ staves first - mainly ice, thunder, and dark. Try to get wind for gravity too. Beyond that, u.pendant and penitent's rope are pretty worthwhile damage pieces for the gil. Also, igqira head, igqira legs, and a spider torque will help tons for enfeebling.

>Do the assaults at Halvung staging point for the feet. It is easily the best nuking footwear. The feet is the only required piece although the others are useful for resting.

>You don't necessarily need to do sky at all. You can solo the force pop NM for vicious mufflers (+5 mab) in sauromugue champaign (s). You can try salvage, but BLM isn't really useful for that.

>I would suggest meriting enfeebling first. Then do elemental skill, ice potency, and thunder potency. Get at least freeze II and burst II as well. Blm merits are pretty important in general. It's hard to skimp on them.

>You won't need /SCH for anything. You shouldn't need /WHM either, but it has some uses when lots of status cures are needed and other mages aren't doing their jobs or standing in the wrong place. Basically, in situations where gravity is useful /RDM is a requirement.

For Dynamis, I'd strongly suggest NIN sub. It will increase your survivability in Dynamis several fold. It's not useful for any other endgame activity though.

This is only good if you have tons and tons of people who can take care of pretty much everything else you'd need to do besides nuking. I go /rdm for dynamis just for the fact that I can solo bst pets, and statues with gravity and fast cast.

I'll agree with much of what the above people said, so I'll forgo repeating it.

If you're curious about what gear to gun for though, I wrote a blog post a couple months back about gearing up a BLM75, if you want a reference for things to aim for.
