I've actually seen and talked to quite a few BLUs who do this as well. I think the only problem would be the levels where there is no alternative but to exp on pet elementals. If I'm not mistaken, they still take quite a bit less physical damage than most enemies, just like regular elementals. Whether or not BLUs have a magical solution to this at any given level, I don't know. Just a thought.

This guide is awesome. I almost don't want to bump this so the camps stay secret. So far I've only used the Pso'Xja and Newton for levels 56-60 but I was stuck at 56 for almost a month before I found this guide. Not only does soloing these pets get pretty decent to good xp. It also serves the secondary purpose of keeping me logged in as BLM more with seek on, which in turn gets me into good xp parties. See, at first I was trying to level as much as possible but when the invites stopped coming, I got distracted and started doing other things. I tried crafting: Cooking lvl40 (yay juices). Leveling a new subjob: RDM30 (push for 37 soon!). NM camping: meh never really worked out. Claimed Morion Worm (?) a couple times but no tathlum drop. I'm not much for competition I guess. I'll just keep porting in Whitegate as my main source of income (But, again I have to be on my WHM to port, therefore cannot seek as BLM at the same time, grrr). Anyways just wanted to say thanks.

Oh and a note about the 58-60 Newton camp. It got a lot easier after I figured out to invis right before every "pull". Since invis doesn't drop until the spell is cast, I could stand anywhere I wanted to cast and if I aggro'd after invis drops, I would already be running for zone since my resting area was on the way to zone anyway.

I'm lvl 45 and i see that i can go kill the goblin's rabbits in Cape Terrigan.

But IF i don't have NIN as a subjob, am i basicly screwed?

Is it possible to go there as a 45BLM/22WHM and just bind the rabbits then nuke?

Honestly, the only way that I could see this being consistently safe is if you can 2-shot the rabbit. If you absolutely cannot sub NIN, my recommendation would be Blizzard II > Sleep (Bind is extremely unreliable compared to Sleep) > Waterga II. Even if this doesn't kill the pet, I'm sure you can finish him off with a tier 1 nuke in between his swings when he wakes up.

Still, this method requires an extremely larger amount of MP use due to the fact that it is almost mandatory to Blink/Stoneskin between every fight, as well as the extra Sleep AND the inefficient use of an -aga spell. Granted, /WHM will give you a boost in MP, but not nearly enough to outweigh the benefits of Utsusemi. If you're a taru, this may not even be a problem. However, there is also more risk involved in this method due to the fact that you absolutely must sleep the enemy every kill. Before level 51 this may be difficult to do.

Just level /NIN. It has so many uses for so many jobs. :)

Woohoo, just dinged 70!

That last 5,000 exp was horrible! Kept dying over and over, had to travel from Bastok to camp so many times.

But oh well. Tomorrow I'm getting my buffer then manaburning all the way to 75+ on Ebony Puddings.

It's been a great journey soloing to 70. I sure learned a lot. I've been to places I wouldn't dream of going on any other job (except maybe BST, but that's never gonna happen).

But what's this thing I keep hearing about...? Something "magic... burst"?

I've been leveling BLM lately and I've suffered a shortage of invites and an unavailability of seekers to create my own parties. This will certainly give me something productive to do while I LFP or wait for a good setup to appear in the /sea all XX-XX inv screen. Thanks!

been following this guide since i hit lv50, been going great :D
i managed to get 3 levels in the amount of time it took a couple of my friends to get two (they were thf + brd). i DID have a little bit of help in the way of a borrowed account to R2 me whenever i died, but that only happened a few times.

also, for anyone interested in 1-18, it's not hard at all ;p 1-7 on normal easy mobs, then worms in konshtat until 10, then go to korrolokka until 15 or so, then head to maze of shakrami until 18/19. i think...it's been awhile, and i forget exact levels, but i DO remember skipping VD entirely xD

Anyone know if there a good alternative to Pso'Xja for 54-58? I'm still on CoP 4-2, nd probably won't get to 5-3 for awhile.

You don't need CoP missions for Pso'Xja 54-58 camp. I haven't touched CoP missions other than trigger a few cutscenes and I used that camp. It's a good camp, a little bit of a walk to get to but worth it. Just don't get lost.

Just wanted to say thanks!

I used this guide to get from level 29 to ALMOST 31 in about an hour and a half. Then I died from a link :). But I gained far more experience then I lost (around 7k), and will be going back to Bibiki tonight to get to 32!

Sure as **** beats waiting for a party. And even then, sometimes the parties I get are slowww.

If anyone else is curious I went /rdm, always had Protect and Aquaveil up.

At 29:
Thunder >> Blizzard >> Drain >> Thunder would always kill.

Once I hit 30:
Water II >> Sleep >> Water II
would easily kill that little rabbit.

I do have capped skills from rdm though, so throughout the whole thing I had 2 resists.

So I read somewhere that there's two camps in Bibiki Bay for 60ish. I've seen the valley/tunnelish area that this guide mentions but can't imagine where the other camp may be. Anybody have a clue?

Very well written, I have solo'd a lot on BLM and BLU and have a couple observations. For your first camp @ Newton Movalpolos Flood is not required but It will be hard to keep change and is fairly dangerous. Flood was expensive and I still don't have it. For that Camp you can cast burst and then run to zone line Aero I and zone. You lose chains but it is still fairly fast exp, also you need stoneskin / blink for every fight.

Also, I would like to add this this thread, for about 22-23 (24? I'm only 22 atm.) A good camp is in Rolanberry Fields. You can kill the Goblin Pathfinder's bee, but watch out it will link with the other bees and they also con T+. It was good exp while lfp. :)

Where is it located? I couldn't find it when I went solo. Is there a good camp, or does the goblin basically wander around aimlessly throughout a large area? If he does, then other alternatives should definitely be considered first, as this can get quite annoying.

I would just like to add a camp at 26-28

The basement in Delkfutt's tower you need the Delkfutt's key to get there.
Look for Gigas Butcher with his pet bats.
It's a nice big open area with lots of place to pull to nuke.

Just wanted to add something b\c I dont think that the ele's @ 36-44 would be soloable by anyone other than a BLM. I know that this is a BLM soloing guide, but i just wanted to add some info so that other jobs (I'm lvling BLU and SAM atm) can solo as well. There are tiger pets of gigas in Xarcabard that are the exact same level as the tonberry ele's and gobbie bats(triple) in the Castle Baileys and a gobbie bat in the Castle Keep(single). The bats are slightly lower lvl than the elementals but higher than the tigers out in Xarcabard. I haven't tested any camps for this but I plan to soon and I'll edit this post when I do. If anyone wants to test this out ahead of time that'd be great as well. Great guide btw it has helped out so much ^^.

Ok I found the gigas in Xarcabard that has the tiger. He is @ the NE corner of the map in a very wide open area w/ other gigas around too, but he is usually up on the hill away from the other gigas. There are rocks and such around, which can provide cover while pulling and such. There are only 2 other aggro mobs around and they are two Evil Eyes which mainly stays down below near the SE wall, which shouldn't interfere since you can just range pull the tiger. (I have seen them fly up the hill before but for the most part when I was there they stayed below.) The only thing that'll interfere w/ your pulling is the other gigas around, but if you have a ranged attack or spells with range then u should be ok. I recommend invis since you will want to be in the best position possible when pulling and not have to worry bout aggro, and rr is a good idea too but you are not that far away from the outpost that you can set your Home Point at. Also there are no safe resting spots close to the BST gigas, so invis is required or tonko, w/e you have. There is actually another BST gigas north slightly farther north than the first one. Same situation, other gigas and an eye or two, invis req and sneak if eyes get too close. But if you are just really good and fast you can get reallly high chains by killing one gigas pet then heading over to the other one's. This is a very dangerous camp and it might prove hard to pull tigers a safe camp, the best camp i found was next to a very tall rock on the western wall overlooking the valley, only one gigas wonders there periodically.

More info to come as I get it for this camp and for the bat camps in the castle. I hope this helps anyone who hates elementals ^^.

Why in the 54-58 Pso'xja zone is Quake recommended over Tornado? Aren't bats weak to Wind? Or is it simply since Quake is the most powerful AM at that time? I don't have much gil left, and can only afford one, I want to make sure I get the right spell.

It is because Quake is the most powerful at that level. It depends on your gear though I guess. My gear wasn't that good at the time and I barely one-shotted it. You could always test it with whatever you have though. One death isn't really that bad. Once you get into a groove, you'll literally make that xp back in no time.

That is a great leveling range/camp. I just started the Bibiki Bay camp and it is much harder once the mobs are strong enough that one-shotting is not possible. Still, get into a groove and it gets easy.

I've found that at just about any level there are worms you can solo with relative safety, the only real threat being any other mobs that are nearby that will aggro *cough* gobs *cough* and DoT spells like rasp. /NIN however should take care of rasp (what about stoneskin though? don't spells like rasp and dia ignore it?) and at 30+ you can sub WHM for Silence.

The reason I don't mention worms at all is because, although they are quite a bit safer, they are very poor exp/hour compared to beastmen pets. They have a significantly larger amount of HP and will therefore cause you to use up more MP, which means more downtime. Unfortunately being able to Aspir once a minute will not make up for this.

Skie/Salacia answered about worms earlier in the thread.

Dia/Rasp will land one someone with stoneskin up, but stoneskin will absorb the damage from them (you still get the status effects though). Hence you can /heal with dia and rasp on provided your stoneskin does not wear.

The two drawbacks to using Tornado at this camp are:

1) It may not be powerful enough to 1-shot the bat.
2) There is an almost constant ice/double ice weather effect in Beaucedine Glacier. I would not recommend using a wind-based spell during these times.

If you can get around both of these things, then by all means do so.

After checking prices on Quake, about 50k more than I have, my other question is can Freeze still work? With AF Gloves, Ice Staff (Elemental +15 AND 10% damage boost), plus Ice/Double Ice weather, can I still one-shot pets in Pso'xja? Approximately how much HP do they have?
