They have roughly 940 HP.

It is very unlikely you will be able to consitently kill them with Freeze, even during ice weather, because weather effects do not activate on spells 100% of the time at this level. This means your Freeze will sometimes not hit for maximum damage, which will be far too little to 1-shot the pet.

As someone who has been using this guide leveling quite quickly with it (gogo 10k/hour solo) I'd like to mention something: One shotting pets is fun and fast exp. But... It gimps you magic skills horribly. After getting 3 levels in a few hours I looked at my enfeab/dark/elemental and all were at least 2 levels below cap (by level I mean I was at blm 55 and my skills were like a blm 53 would be if capped...).

I'm taking the time to skill up now and its horribly slow. Going to end up taking 3 hours of skilling up just to cap everything at my current level. I try to get exp parties from time to time just to keep my skills near where they should be. Thats the biggest draw back Ive noticed in soloing. Get your level in 1 hour but have to spend another hour skilling up so ends up bringing you with what you wouldve done in a normal exp party most likely.

You can cap your magic skills pretty easily in besieged - just spam bio for dark, dia for enfeeb, and some elementalal spell for elemental skillups.

After duoing some worms in Qufim for a few levels then switching to bst pets, i am loving it. I've gone from 22 to 32 in a flash and i'm still going hehe. Easily pulling in 6k an hour without the need for a party. I love it.

So far i've only been camped on once (the bubu camp) but after beating the asshat on the next 7/8 claims he gave up and left hehe. I was there for almost an hour, when he walked up, examined me, and proceeded to claim the very next pet that popped. He spoke english and even after I asked him to leave politely he just stopped talking to me. Guess I beat him at his own game though ^^

Also, a good way to investigate possible alternative camps from the guide is just to check a mob level listing for anything with an 's in its name. You'll see all beastmaster pets and be able to gauge where to go investigate hehe. Maybe the OP did this already but its also good to find things on your own sometimes.

Thanks for the guide ^^

These camps will become crowded, I've started seeing it already as BLU. I ask how they know about the camp, they point to this post. I've seen BLMs, PUPs, THFs and other BLUs using this. But I never camp against someone already there, I ask when they expect to go and wait for them to leave. But God knows such high ethical approaches will not last very long when you have more than one person waiting.

No, I'm not being selfish. More people benefit from if it wasn't public knowledge. If everyone knows these camps, then no one will be able to enjoy them because of over population. If a few know the camps, then those few will be able to enjoy it without fear.

I know you put a lot of work in this guide. But please, delete it off of every forum before you ruin it for everyone.

I am surprised no one else has responded to this. I am a BST and spend most of my time on the BST forums. I am also one of the leaders of an all BST Linkshell so I can tell you that it won't be doomsday like you state. It takes a certain mentality to solo in this game and most burn out really fast. I see it all the time when a new BST joins our shell, plays it for a while then either parties with it or quits all together becuase they cannot handle the swings of fortune soloing has. Very few stick with solo for a long period of time. There are limited amounts of camps for certain levels of BST solo and many guides will point you to the same place, but it's not that bad to get the camp you want and have little compitition.

I think you will find the same with BLM soloing as well. All jobs can solo, but most choose not to for one reason or another. From what I gathered in researching this (I am currently soloing THF/BST, with my time schedule partying w/o a static i sdamn near impossible) it is extremely dangerous. Most people don't like to die, let alone multiple times so this will not be for everyone. I also did a /sea all blm in certain ranges and found none in the areas listed. I also did some anon searches and was 90% sure that the people in that area were not there for BLM solo or they were in a party.

I applaud the OP for providing this. People DO benefit from it, those like myself that is now seriously considering doing this after I finish the last 10 levels of THF/BST.

Well, not to sound bratty(but it probably will, sorry) but I think it's sort of common knowledge by now to most people that SMN and BST pets= mushy & great exp ^^ The OP just put it all together for us cause he wanted to help his fellow players out. If people hadn't made threads and posted feedback on the BST forums my experience taking BST to 75 definetely wouldn't have been as enjoyable and would have felt more like "work" in a sense.

I've been soloing my BLM since 40 on Demon Eles in CZB and Xarc, while I haven't seen any yet, I have no doubt that when I get higher up they'll be competition, but I'm used to that with my BST. I always check the entire area before heading to camp after doing a /sea all of BLM near my level. It never hurts to throw out some tells either rather than waste your time, sneakoils, ect :)

When I dinged 44 I was ready to head to Cape Terrigan so I did a search and there were some low level SMNs there in a PT and one of them had {Goblin}{Pets} in their /seacom so I actually found a new camp for 44+ because I was really anxious to get going.
I've been Killing Tonberry Elementals in PsoXja in the uncapped area. They conned VT-IT to me at 44 and I've gotten 3 lvls there so far. The camp's right by the zone(from G-9 in the Glacier) and there's only two mobs, a Cryptonberry Harrier and Stalker. The zone makes things safer but can be a nuisance if people keep zoning Tonberries as you'll have downtime waiting for repops. People also kill these guys for keys, though I only ran into both of these problems the first night I was there. The past few days I've been exping there undisturbed :)

I'm guessing the exp will start to die down around 48/49ish but I'll keep you posted if anybody's interested ^^;

Seconded.
I've soloed 51-63 so far, and never had a conflict with camps. Once or twice I've used /sea ahead of time and see someone using it, but most of the time my desired camp is empty. Invites have been miserable, so it's either this or don't level. I think most people who do endgame activities have seen something called off for lack of BLM at one time or another, so this is very helpful info if it increases the general BLM75 population.

I would like to add that from about 23-26, I soloed on worms in qufim island. I just used aero and aeroga on them. You just have to make sure that it isnt close to anything else so your aeroga only hits it.

After checking prices on Quake, about 50k more than I have, my other question is can Freeze still work? With AF Gloves, Ice Staff (Elemental +15 AND 10% damage boost), plus Ice/Double Ice weather, can I still one-shot pets in Pso'xja? Approximately how much HP do they have?

When i went at 54 i found that i would be just short of 1 shotting the mobs w/ both freeze and quake (freeze hit for around 880 and quake would hit for around 880). so this caused me to die more frequently. at 55 i went back to jueno to gear up. mainly trading astral and ether rings for int rings. and picked up the all important earth staff. even after adding my int rings and w/ ice staff already. freeze would hit for around 890-900(which is still short of 1 shot). but quake w/ rings and earth staff hits for 950-960. which is slight overkill(which i am now 57 and have only been resisted once). and i had af gloves on at 54. so i would say that quake w/ earth staff is the best way to go, it will save you some deaths.

rarely would freeze one shot the bats. every once in a while during double ice weather it would land for 1k.

Mhyato,
If you have a duo for Goblin Headman, there's another camp that's east of the coffer. When the path splits, take the north road and stop at the first circle gate. You need to rest almost exactly on the red paint to avoid Headman to the east and Marksman to the west, but your prize is two bats within pulling range for unbelievable exp as long as your MP keeps up.

*Sigh*

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I just can't get the hang of this. I finally made it to 54 and was able to scrounge up for Quake. I head to Pso'Xja camp, and with Earth Staff equipped, I'm barely breaking 920 dmg. I had +26 INT from gear/food, and it was Ice weather. Blink saved me the first couple times as a Drain and Thunder spell finished off the bats. The next time, Blink failed and I died, then Reraised. Next time, Gob saw his bat and both killed me, but I forgot to bring another Reraise scroll and promptly deleveled. So now I sit at 53, very discontent as BLM, with lots of questions. My first question is 54 really too low for this camp? Should I try and exp the old fashioned way to 55 and then come back? Also, while Bastok (my nation) didn't control the are at the time, if they did would Bastokan/Republic Circlet help over the +3 INT from Seer's Circlet +1? I talked to another BLM and he said at 55 he was hitting 950-980 with no resists. Why was I doing so poorly?

I'd like to continue as BLM, but with ToAU areas being mostly TP burn, I know that solo/manaburn are what's available to me. Please help me out!

BLM soloing is always very shakey. We teeter on hoping that we don't get hit, or if we are hit, that our Blink/Stoneskin can hold up long enough that we don't get our casting interrupted. To be honest I don't think its your damage that cost you your death. I never really soloed at the Pso'Xja camps but if its anything like the more risky ones I take every day it has to do almost solely with resists (Full-grown Wamoura and the Dahak don't like eating my gravities and nukes). On a bad day? I'll spend 2-3 RR charges then give up and go back to puddings / princes. On a good day though I'll plow through at 7-8k an hour soloing. It all depends on whether you are fortunate to get in a groove and kill monsters without much thought.

Check day of the week too. For me, I found this camp unusable during Windsay because my Quake damage would fall just short of killing about half the time, which is usually = death because the Quake cast time gives the goblin a chance to move into an unpredictable position. At 56 you can switch to Burst (except on Earthsday). I had Terra's Staff and Moldavite too.

Remember that mobs spawn in a range of 3-4 levels, even pets. If your spell damage, free of resists and day/weather penalties, is not quite enough to kill the highest level ones, then you should change to a 2- or 3-shot strategy using Grav, Bind, Utsusemi, Sleep, etc. where applicable. At least that way you can pull the pet with a faster spell and avoid gob links.

I really hate to sound like an idiot, but what kinda xp/hr are u seeing soloing BLM? I recently gave up on BLM b/c the invites/party chances reduced to almost nothing (53blm) and I went on to level mnk 75 and nin 64. I am really excited knowing that I can have a high level BLM and it only depends upon my dedication/skill/time. Please let me know. I may actually be capable of doing the Jay-Z of blm (yeah...its been retired more times than he has).

Normally the camps listed here, I see and hear stories of people getting between 4-6k an hour which isn't bad for low level soloing. Higher levels, it all becomes an equation of "e-peen directly correlates to increases in exp/hour". A regularly equipped BLM at 75 might pull in 4-6k per hour while the highest of the high BLMs can easily score 8-9k per hour without ring (breaking 10k with said ring).

Its definately an alternative to PTing if you're not getting any invites.

First off, this guide is fantastic.

Like most other posters, I would wait for hours for invites (63BLM), that might never come, so I wanted to give the places in this guide a try (I have leveled NIN to 75 "back in the day" which ment alot of solo'ing, so I was not unfamiliar with it).
But when I got there and tryed to exp, I found that solo'ing on BLM takes a different type of skill (and not the easiest for me to have ^^). So, after a considerable amount of lost exp, I got the hang of it, and the above stated exp started coming (still those deaths though). You will get the hang of it if you keep trying (macros are the key IMO).

The one thing I've noticed (in Bibiki Bay) is that when another BLM comes to check camps (for soloing), you get a salute, and they move on. Never fighting or competing for the pets. It's nice to know that even though we are overrun by RMTs and overcamped exp spots, common courtesy is still in the game.

Before 51 it is more or less your average exp party's exp/hour except you don't have to worry about other party members being idiots. That, offset by the deaths in solo and you getting used to each solo camp basically causes them to be equal.

After 51, however, due to AM and a dramatic increase in good gear, solo exp/hour tends to be far better. I was getting 7000-8000 exp/hour in the Pso'Xja camp at 54 and it only increased as I gained levels and shifted camps, and I had some very un-high-quality-gear.

Thanks for the additional information. I'm in the process of gathering gear (camping/borrowing/etc) to work on soloing my BLM. I am a career MNK, but I often forget how much fun bbq-n-bind-n-bbq is. I read the post and like many others here on the forum thank you for helping. BLM isn't an easy job, but it is rewarding. I need to know tho...what subs are recommended for specific levels. For instance: can a 53 Elvaan BLM sub nin and still have enough mp for the big bombs/invis/rinse-repeat chains? Will I have to have RDM at certain areas due to fastcast. Like I said, I'm a returning BLM and still have so much to "re-learn." Thanks again Salacia!

Sub jobs are covered in the guide at the top, under "PREPARATION".

Hello everyone. I have been playing with BLU and using this solo guide.. right now my BLU is 28 and I have been Partying in the jungles since 24... I really didnt want to go to Rangeumont Pass, lol. Anway for BLU I wanted to add that you can go into Lower Delfutt's Tower and prey upon the Giblin's bats at 18(I subbed RDM and was pulling them with dia) quite effieciently and they DO NOT link with the the other bats in the area. (^.^). The spells i used was: Wild Oats, Head Butt, and Power Attack. If your BLU magic is capped ( which i dont see why its wouldnt be) you should have no problem casting 3 maybe 4 spells to kill them( mainly using Power Attack), and the resists are very minimal and the bat might take 25-35% of your health i was still getting chain #2 and #3. I hope this helps out some of my fellow BLUs out there wanting to solo

{Hello!} i am having a lot of trouble with the Pso'Xja region. i have found the 60 cap entrance. after walking through a few stairs and hallways i get to a fork in the road and have to go either left or straight. this is very annoying, because i cannot find the goblin's jeweler and after i choose either left or right, the passageway that i chose closes up so that i cannot go back and rethink my decision. the first time i went, i thought i had chosen the wrong path and escaped out of Pso'Xja. bad idea. no map, no idea where i was warped back home. i finally have a map now, but i still cant find the camp inside of the Pso'Xja 60 cap zone. please help me

Regarding questions for the Pso'Xja 54-58 section:

I, too, had issues at 54-55 with one shotting the Bat. I found that resist rates on both Quake and Tornado left a little to be desired, and Quake and Freeze both may leave a sliver of health left. My solution was to, from either sub, cast a blink and have Blizzard 1 set ready to go. Waiting for the gob to finish walking and face away from me, I would cast an AM right when he stopped, solving most links. If the pet survived with a sliver, i would cast Bliz1 for an extra 100 dmg to finish it off. Half or Full Resists will still cause death more than likely due to bats' reluctance to sleep, but those are rare.

As for finding the camp, upon entering, hug the right wall the entire time and you will find it. The map is a large square, and you enter in the middle on the right hand side. You must continue around the map to almost the beginning again, where you can find the jeweler, make a left and fall in the hole.

Been using this lately for BLU, works pretty well. We can't one shot the pets, so it's a little more work for us, but CA our best spell and then spam wut we got works well. Cocoon, utsusemi, and refueling are a must. I also like to cast headbutt between big damage spells to delay the mob from hitting me, and it's also pretty decent damage for the amount of mp it is.

Can this solo guide really work for the lvl 20s? i was soloing in Buburimu on sylvestres and mighty rarabs recently, and i found that it took me about 4 spells to kill each mob. i'm finding it hard to believe that i'll be able to kill the gigas' pets in delkfutt's tower, on an even higher level, before they kill me... does this really work?
also, will i really need the ninja subjob or can i survive with whm?

I just tried this at level 51. It was working great until I accidentally hit a /ra <t> macro instead of my Freeze macro.

What a waste of a 70,000 gil Morion Tathlum.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but I found an alternate camp in Gustav for the same level range (50/51-53). Head to the beginning of the second map, just like you would as if going to the listen camp, but instead of heading right, turn left and follow the path north and west to the empty tunnel. There will be a Shepherd basically right outside the tunnel, with some undead behind you. While I was there, I actually saw two Shepherds just outside (and sometimes inside) casting range. I'm not certain about the viability of this camp, because one time I was casting Freeze on a leech slightly outside of the tunnel and a crab aggroed me; I did make it out alive, but it was somewhat traumatizing. It probably needs further testing, but it seemed good for quite a bit. Hope I helped?

There are THREE camps in Gustav. One at the entrance to the area with the Goblin Shephards which attaches to the main tunnel. And at the two exits to the area.

At all three camps, there is a Goblin Shephard nearby whose leech you can Freeze. The leeches regenerate themselves in the time it takes to med back your 307 MP from casting Freeze.

Just make sure you set up your macros properly :)

Aydeewa Subterrane - [(E-10) Wajoam Woodlands - 68-72 - Qiqirn Archaeologist - RDM sub not needed, they will con VT to a 68 but they do not run at you to hit you, they just shoot you with a bow. I cast Thunder III to pull, then Stone IV, Thunder III, Blizzard III, Fire III, and then repeat starting at Stone IV and it will usually leave him at about 5% hp left if that doesnt kill him, you get around 240-300 exp a mob without exp ring. Hope it helps

Been using this guide to solo my BLM. I'm currently at 42 BLM (managed to get exp party to get to 42) but my major gripe is with the Castle Zvahl Baileys "camp".

I walk in there and I see absolutely ZERO, ZILCH, NADA Demon Warlock anywhere near the zone. The only place I can find one is in Xarcabard, near the Ulegurand Range zone. That place is decent due to the fact the zone is nearby, HOWEVER, the only way to really get to exp there is if the Demon Warlock spawns on the decline ramp that leads into Uleguerand Range. If the Demon Warlock spawns on the upper part above the zone, pulls are damn near impossible.

So where's the Demon Warlock supposed to be in Castle Zvahl Baileys? All I ever see are Pawns, Knights, and Wizards. No Warlocks and their pet elementals for me to nuke. >< Would it be a simple job of changing over to my BST and killing every Demon in the area and HOPING a Warlock spawns? Where is the Warlock supposed to be in the Castle Zvahl Baileys camp?

Having just finished leveling from 40-44 in Castle Zvahl Baileys, I can confim the Demon Warlock is there.

He is on the top area just as you zone into the Keep. (G-8) on the second map.

I usually pull back towards the zone incase I aggro the demon.

Goodluck & Take Care

i finally found the pso place. it was very good xp. anyways, i am now level 60 =D. i tried to go to bibiki bay at 60, with elemental and dark at 215 and 203, but i had enfeebling magic at 113. i ended up dying about 7 times because my sleep spells kept getting resisted. after my reraise hairpin was used up, i decided to do a few skill up PTs to get enfeebling up. i got enfeebling up to 193 and have had no problem sleeping the rabbit. i just want to point out that without everything capped, this guide is rendered useless. ty for the guide, and i havent died yet(with enfeebling @193)! =D

The gap between Dark staff and Pluto staff for Sleep accuracy is very noticeable as well. If you don't mind making some gil before leveling BLM this way, it will save you a lot of grief.

I'll probably try the Newton bats as NIN67. I've had far too many horrid parties lately and getting 3k/hr solo beats the hell out of putting up with several idiots who seem intent on killing me and getting 1.5k-2k/hr. I still need the map from in there anyway.

They're single bat pets, right? cannotlinkto is super slow this morning for me for some reason.

About a month ago I was at Beaucedine Glacier I-9 camp lvl'n on Rime Gigas pets for my Blu subs.
The Rime was already up when I got there that time.

Today I went there to get another lvl or two and was unable to get a Rime Gigas to pop.

Killed the whole cycle of Gigas twice(cold-snow-sleet)tryin to get the Rime to pop.

Has something changed ingame,or was I just unlucky,or is there a trick,etc?

Sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere, but are you guys getting to chain #5 from one BST mob? Do they really resummon their pets fast enough for chain #5? Or do I need to find camps with more than one BST mob.

Yes, they really summon fast enough for chain 5. There is some MP management involved to make it happen, but you can definitely hit chain 5. Just rest more during the earlier chains when you have more time between chains, then rest less around chain 4-5. I basically like to be casting as soon as the mob is summoned for chain 5, and within maybe one wander of the gob after he summons for chain 4 (if that makes any sense hehe)

I just saw a lv45 Black Mage soloing Tonberry's Elemental in Uggalepih. He was camping on the first map at the east (off map) zoneline, past the Flauros spawn, on the way to the Rogberry/Goblet/Decimation NM area. There's one Tonberry SMN near the zone, so it looked pretty safe.

Since I didn't see it elsewhere, I figured I throw this out.

A major con, in my opinion at least, for the Gustav camp listed is when parties show up to camp the NM as the PH is the Shepard you're picking on.

This hindered me drastically every day I spent there as BLUs had the other camps to themselves.

Discussion of chaining really depends on your level range. If you check here you'll see that the amount of time you have increases as you get higher in level. Thus, what works for a level 52 BLM when you have a 60 sec time limit may not work if you're only level 32 and your limit is 40 sec.

If it makes you feel any better I'm level 27 and getting chain #2. The time I spend researching how to get chain #3 could better be spent leveling.
Edit: At 28 in Bibiki Bay the terrain is more open so I can pull the pet after the goblin's first wander after the pet is summoned so I can get chain #3.

Good point.

I started soloing bst pets at level 26 in Yhoator and there I definitely remember only being able to hit chain 4 usually. Not sure what level I was able to consistently maintain chain 5 to be honest. It was before 50 and AMs though, since I was still getting chain 5 in Gustav on the rabbits there before I had Freeze and my Aquilo's (just making it 1000% easier hehe).
