Is their a guide for solo skillchains? As well as what spells would you cast?

I did google and check over a few sites but came up emepty handed.

Ok, well thanks for the one post. Their is much more to learn so I feel I will post some stuff I found and tried out.

Solo Dark Skill Chain (Staff)
Immanence > Luminohelix > Immanence > Alacrity > Stone X > Alacrity > Ebullience > Omniscience > Stone X/Water X/Blizzard X/Drain

Solo Light Skill Chain (Club)
Immanence > Fire X > Immanence > Alacrity > Thunder X > Alacrity > Ebullience > Black Halo > Aero X/Fire X/Thunder X/Luminohelix

But, these were made at the 75 cap.

I want to know about the three other weaponskills. retrabution for staff, Shattersoul, and flash nova for club.

Maybe I have to put this in a post of general foroum so people will respond.

Skillchaining with spells on Scholar really isn't that hard to figure out, since as long as you know the normal skillchain chart, you can figure out how to skillchain with spells. Just match the element of the spell with the appropriate skillchain property.

Light - Transfixion
Darkness - Compression
Fire - Liquefaction
Thunder - Impaction
Wind - Detonation
Earth - Scission
Water - Reverberation
Ice - Induration


Luminohelix is light based, thus aligned with Transfixion, and Stone is Scission aligned since it's earth based. A Transfixion opener with a Scission closer will be Distortion given how the skillchain charts work. As long as you know the elements of the spells, then you'll know how to skillchain. It's not a special guide you need to have like Blue Mage, where it's unclear what all properties it has, so it's uncertain where spells might fit as far as openers or closers.

I also wouldn't downplay Meteor that much, since, in Abyssea, multiple Black Mages using Meteor are hitting levels that are otherwise brew only, whereas that combination you're listing with Kaustra is not much different than what normal DDs are capable of doing in there with proper Atmas. It's really good damage, but give a Black Mage a few solid elemental nukes during a skillchain and they'll put up just as much damage in about the same amount of MP expended. Not to mention that, barring something like intense soothing lights, you may not be able to use it again for a couple of hours, whereas Black Mages will be up and running with Meteor in 15 minutes, not to mention cannot be resisted, whereas Kaustra could.

One of the big problems with doing it this way, especially by yourself, is that doing it with this setup is inefficient. For starters, without procs you're running the risk of that Kur not giving you the KI. Second, you've got no Thief in the mix, so those Sobeks and Isgebinds might not drop the second Empyrean upgrade item they're capable of, and lastly, for both Sobek and Isgebind, it's just a really risky situation since you're looking at mobs that can and do paralyze. What would happen if, when attempting to cast Kaustra, your casting was paralyzed, and then your skillchain would be ruined. Not to mention these are sufficiently strong enough NMs that if you, a mage, were caught paralyzed mid-cast, they have the capacity to do a significant chunk of damage/kill you as you're trying to get situated. Lastly, there's the fact that you're going from a skillchain with a weaponskill to running away and kiting the mob. That very easily leaves time for the mob to go unclaimed, and even with that Kaustra damage on there, a strong enough DD with TP at the ready could easily run in, weaponskill it, and claim it to him, and there's really nothing you could do about it.

Would it be fun in some situations? Sure, I imagine it would. But given that efficiency is a big part of the game and your setup is banking a fair bit on luck, it's just a setup that strikes me as more risky than worthwhile.
