I was just curious to hear how others are going about collecting their seals. These have been more of a pain for me than my other mage jobs. Ironclad Smiter is the easiest top pop of the 3 NMs that drop the seals, but I've had terrible luck getting seals from it. It seems to drop SAM and NIN a lot.

I've fought the t1 goblin about 8 times or so with a THF and it hasn't dropped the item to spawn Bomblix Flamefinger. (To anyone who has fought him, can he be duo'ed? There isn't much info on him aside from his spells and the bomb move)

There is also the khimaira but getting the ??? to pop takes a lot of work if no one has been fighting the NMs and collecting 3 pop items is a hassle if they are not on the AH. I saw someone on BG say that it can be easily duo'ed by a THF and RDM. Does anyone have experience with it? JP Wiki lists it's moves and says that it is a normal khimaira but I don't have much experience with them.

Any input would be most appreciated.

Bomblix actually can use Frag Bomb at any time in the fight, it is not exclusive to under 25%HP. This was discovered by myself and a few friends when we killed him the first time and he used it only once under 25%. Thinking it wasn't too bad, we fought him again and he proceeded to use it three times that fight. It seems to be a random TP move of his. If you get incredibly unlucky, he will spam it.

Fool's Drink doesn't prevent the damage either. I am unsure of Fanatic's. He really is annoying as a NM, but the fight can go quick enough, and as long as your healer can keep you topped off for Frag Bomb (and stay out of range), it should be ok.

Oh, as for Khimaira, he really is quite a simple fight. Just keep your mage out of range and heal your tank/dd as needed and things will be fine. I don't really remember anything special about him, since the fight went so quickly, but I think he casts soma -aga spells? I believe he also casts Burst but I might be mixing up my NMs. Just make sure you have a competent healer and things should be fine.

I am really preferring Ironclad Smiter for the fight, since he's the simplest and Rani needs to be killed a bunch of times anyway for his drops so if you can, I recommend trying to kill him.

I'm 2/10 on SCH seals, killing all these NMs over and over and wasting about 5 stones (so far) on the stupid Let there be Light quest :< Suckers don't like to put out.

Our Rdm/Drk was constantly trying to stun w/ no luck seems rather resistant. Also what khimaira is there haven't seen that on ffxiclopedia under sch body seals, though tbh I think I'm gonna have to suck it up and do the ironclad smiter.

Yes, it seems to be highly resistant to stun, if not immune. Both Stun and Head Butt were resisted entirely everytime they were cast.

As of this moment there seems to be no known way to avoid triggering or stopping Frag Bomb. ; ;

I would still recommend you kill him if you want, though. He's not terribly difficult and prefers to cast -ga spells. One WHM and a DD should be able to handle him. You can take two healers for safety's sake and a fool's drink will at least absorb all the fire spells he loves to cast.

After some questing and a few more hours on the giant I finally have my gown +1! Anyone know what the enhancement to the addendum does? People on BG have looked for mab, additional spells, cut mp cost, casting speed and recast but have come up with nothing. I hope it's not macc as we already have plenty. Enmity down is another option I guess. I'm not sure how to go about testing either of those though.

Yeah getting pop item from t1 gob is a pain in the ass, with or without blue!! with or without thf drop rate was terrible. Goblin was stingy with seals anyway, we finished an entire RDM body before we got the only SCH seal he ever dropped. The rest of mine came from ironclad in altepa (this was before we knew about khimaira). kitable and easily nukable. For +2 trinkets i did a combination of Empousa and Alfard. Empousa is doable with MNK + WHM (+SCH) and i've heard that alfard can be kited but i wouldnt try it. As for the addendum enhancement the non-rigorous test i did showed -5 enimty for the +2 body. Definitely need firmer confirmation though.

I just redid my tests and couldn't replicate my results. I'm no longer confident that the addendum enhancement is a -enmity boost. I guess we are still in the dark about it.

Dont want to change anyones method. if you have a ls or a group by all means kill mobs. But I quested my seals. Maybe luck was the biggest factor, but I finally got both my callers +1 and savants+1 (literally getting the last seal for each back to back). Questing wasn't that bad at all. with 10/10 and 10/10 on callers and savants, I was only 9/10 on Iga(maybe i should be a ninja) and 4/10 on the rest. So drop rate wasn't bad. I tried looking for groups but ppl just hate those mobs. I tried teaming up with another sch...but he was like "no..." So while he waited for shouts I went on the quest. I decided to do it on my own. and i used probably 40 stones min. posssibly 45. With what i saw was a 40% to 50% chance of not getting any seal. Best was 3 completes dropping savants back to back to back. then a callers.

Savant is not only really awesome looking a but a great piece. Worth the effort. So is callers.

Strangly I'm 4/10 on narvarch. Simply cause no one lots it cause the body is kinda junk. (Macc+7 being the only worth while stat on it, as i have ACP body made for cor), and cor can wear nebula.

Haven't tested anything...but the "augments blah blah" wasn't the selling factor for me.
