Skill ups :: World of Warcraft

This is how I understand Sch to work, as far as skill goes for magic: As long as I'm in Dark Arts (and in AF body) I'll be at about an A skill level in elemental magic, right? I just hit 72 the other night and am starting to be asked to nuke in abyssea but my skill is way under cap (about 185) but it still showed up much higher than that. Can I not really worry about skill ups for now because I'll always be at capped skills in Dark Arts? Don't get me wrong, I do every besieged I can and am actively working on my skill, I'm just thinking that getting leveled and getting my spells should be priority one if I don't *need* to skill up to be "capped." Please educate me if I'm way off.

You'll be at a serious disadvantage offensively with uncapped skills, even with the Arts bonus. Just keep XPing in Abyssea, you can cap them there. Just don't be that guy spamming Stone Bio and Dia endlessly; having underleveled skills is not an excuse to be completely useless.

Also, AF body/legs just grant skill+15, they don't change your skill rating. The distinction matters.

You will never be at capped skill under Dark / Light Arts if you weren't at cap before Dark / Light Arts. Dark / Light Arts will boost your cap by a certain amount. However many skill levels you are below your native cap without Arts up, you will be that many skill levels below the new cap with Dark / Light Arts.
